The French Quarter is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant & wine Bar in a community of unique and quirky businesses in Newcastle city Centre. We are a friendly and approachable team of people, with a passion for the good things in life. Born from nostalgia for a traditional style of commerce and a desire to challenge perceptions that French dining is formal or fussy, we work with independent suppliers to offer a regularly changing wine list & tapas style menu. We have created a casual and sociable environment where customers are invited to experience our food, try our wines, shop from our deli and share our love of all things French!

Cosy restaurant serving a good variety of food. We both had steak, Bavette à l’échalote from the standard menu which was small pieces of beef, unfortunately rather small pieces and overcooked, and one 'special' which was perfect. French beans and dauphinoise sides were very nice as was the crème brûlée à la vanille. Wine flight gave the opportunity to experience different wines. Service was very professional but could have been more helpful but overall a nice evening with a relaxed atmosphere.

The quality of the food, level of service, knowledge of the theme they are going for is all top rate. Great for people who like to nibble, test and share different food. We had a fab time and will be back again soon.

The menu was perfectly sized - Everyone had something they wanted and it was all beautifully executed. The wine was also excellent. Our waiter was so friendly & the tables are nicely spaced so you’re not too close to other parties. Genuinely one of the best meals we’ve had in a while!

A fantastic little restaurant with a fantastic French feel. Amazing staff and service who all seemed really passionate. Quite a small menu but still plenty of choice and probably made choosing sharing dishes easier! Fully recommend a visit.

If I could give every single star a 10 as opposed to a 5, I absolutely would. The steak with mustard sauce this afternoon was arguably the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Service always outstanding. Best restaurant in Newcastle, and better than Michelin Star restaurants I’ve been to. An absolute must visit if you’re in the area!
