The French Quarter is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant & wine Bar in a community of unique and quirky businesses in Newcastle city Centre. We are a friendly and approachable team of people, with a passion for the good things in life. Born from nostalgia for a traditional style of commerce and a desire to challenge perceptions that French dining is formal or fussy, we work with independent suppliers to offer a regularly changing wine list & tapas style menu. We have created a casual and sociable environment where customers are invited to experience our food, try our wines, shop from our deli and share our love of all things French!

The menu was perfectly sized - Everyone had something they wanted and it was all beautifully executed. The wine was also excellent. Our waiter was so friendly & the tables are nicely spaced so you’re not too close to other parties. Genuinely one of the best meals we’ve had in a while!

If I could give every single star a 10 as opposed to a 5, I absolutely would. The steak with mustard sauce this afternoon was arguably the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Service always outstanding. Best restaurant in Newcastle, and better than Michelin Star restaurants I’ve been to. An absolute must visit if you’re in the area!

Food was of good quality and very tasty. Imaginative and certainly french style. I have given 4 stars because the formule midi menu had good choices and was fairly priced but the portions were on the small side. 3 calamari rings for a starter - small plates for mains. So great place to go for a light lunch. House wine ok but overpriced at £23 a bottle (actually a carafe from a bigger container so a good mark up).

Wonderful restaurant. Elle our waitress was excellent and most helpful, knowledgeable and lovely. The only slight criticism is perhaps that some of the food was not seasoned at all or under seasoned which whilst letting the customer season themselves left the taste of the food slightly lacking. This is a really small but important criticism but beyond this it was marvellous. Really worth checking out!

First time there. Hadn't realised it was small plate but the staff were excellent at explaining the options. No complaints on quality of food. Service was outstanding.
