Beautiful restaurant. Service was incredible. We had high expectations for the dinner. Both our meals were definitely lacking that “wow” flavor that we were expecting. Not much flavor. My suggestion, grab a drink, enjoy the beauty of the restaurant and eat across the street at Purple.

Inept and indifferent service. Food was mediocre and appeared to have been plated long before it was brought to the table. The scones were dry and dusty, the savory bites were soggy, the sweets were stale. A 20% surcharge was automatically added to the bill for a table of 3 without any notice. I would recommend avoiding this very costly and unsatifying "experience"

We dined at the George for their annual Holiday Tea service. Parking was difficult, particularly just dropping off the family. It was super busy. Got to the George on time but our table wasn’t quite ready. Once seated, we had to wait a bit but it was nice to just settle in. The restaurant was surprisingly loud and not decorated for the holidays. The tea service came and it was fantastic - we all loved the tea! Then the food towers came and we were able to choose between savory and sweet pastries. The scones were tasty and the butternut squash cheese blintzes were a hit, as were the lobster lettuce wraps. The chocolate tarts were decent on the dessert side. Overall, thee food was ok, nothing amazing, and the service was fine - though a few mess ups. Given the tea, food, and service, I question whether it’s worth $105/per person. I wanted it to be a special occasion, but it didn’t come across that way for us unfortunately. This probably won’t be an annual event for the family.

The service was exceptional, especially from Bertrand, the sommelier and Breanna, the server in charge of our table.

The Fairmont Olympic Hotel is gorgeous and now 100 years old so worth the trip just to see the hotel (especially at Christmas time). The George restaurant for dinner was not our favorite though. We have been there for high tea and it was great but dinner was just okay. Maybe my expectations were just too high. We had oysters and French Onion soup, which were both good. My wife had the back cod and it was mushy and had a strong fishy flavor. She ate it but did not really enjoy it. I had the squash ravioli which was pretty good. Our server was really nice but had too many tables. After we finished out entrées, and the plates were cleared, she came to our table and apologize that we had not received, Yeah, trying to find a hotel down there for Craft cause Lowe’s is sold out. I can see that I just walked over our entrées yet. It was telling how busy she was that we could have sat there for 30 min eating our entrées and she didn’t have time to come to the table to check on us during that time. It was also my wife’s birthday and that was on our Open Table reservation. We saw lots of other birthday deserts going out with candles but none ever arrived at our table. To sum it up, our experience would have been fine at a mid-range restaurant, it just fell short of a Fairmont Olympic Hotel experience.

Our afternoon tea experience was very poor. To begin with, the lukewarm tea came but no food and we had to wait a long time before finally asking if we could get the food. The sandwiches were awful. The cucumber sandwiches were beyond dry and the egg salad sandwich was even worse. The desserts were boring and insipid. The two tiny scones on a giant plate sat looking pathetic and tasted dry and bland. Then there was the bill. The afternoon tea experience was $103. Then there was the parking $30 (which I split with my friend), 3% service fee and the 10% local tax. To top it off, there is the tip which is a percentage of TOTAL bill. In the end I paid $168 including a 20% tip. I I will never go back here again. It wasn't just the cost of the afternoon tea but the poor quality of the food, lukewarm tea and slow service.

Experience was lovely. Service divine. Sadly the tea sandwiches were “meh” almost stale bread. Other than that - highly recommend.

The restaurant feels confused. The beautiful walls and bar conflict with cafeteria-like table settings. The service was fine but the time between the order and the receipt of both beverages and food was quite long. I ordered the lobster roll. It was mostly bread without much filling and the bread was either stale or the roll sat in the window too long waiting to be delivered. The roll was crumbly and cold. The fries that came with it were also cold. Bright side: cocktail was delicious. Overall, I am disappointed.
