Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
The Gibson Hotel's restaurant offers a "fabulous way to start your night" before events at the nearby 3Arena. Guests consistently praise the "great location," "friendly staff," and "fantastic food." However, some note that portion sizes can be small and service can be slow during busy times. Ideal for a pre-concert meal.

Waiters nice and plesant, head waiting busy takling to micropone while pretending to talk to us.Food presented well on plates but we Had 2 plates of the lamb rump. Diffinately wasnt lamb. Mutton was tough and full of fat,not much enjoyment eating it at over30 odd euro a plate.

Starters and mains perfectly cooked and plated. We had the cheese platter as a dessert which was disappointing and overpriced, the grapes served with the cheese were definitely past their prime. The service was good and the staff attentive and polite but need a better knowledge of the drinks from the bar. We ordered port which was served over ice ...

Overall very disappointed by the Gibson offering We went as 3 ppl for a christmas catch up Restaurant / Bar is a big hall that was empty. 3 Couches that would host 3 ppl that were not ideal for eating. Menu was over priced and not even well thought out, when food arrived starter was warm on top cold on bottom, Food wasn't as described one of my party didn't eat it. Dessert again were bought it re heated offerings I sat there thinking i would of been better off in Eddie rockets or Camile Thai that are near to you, we choose there as the Gibson has such a good name but our experience was awful Will i be back no There was no atmosphere in the Bar, it was cold and un welcoming, Qr codes on the table not very welcoming very cheap english pub vibe

The food was nice however we ordered nachos and for an extra €7 added chilli beef but we found this to be very scarce. It wasn’t a lot. And just for the price, we expected more. We got wings and chips. Wings were spicy absolutely delicious. The chips were not great, very soggy. We never got water or wipes with the wings which I thought was strange. The Guinness my boyfriend got wasn’t great. Very flat so just wouldn’t get that again. But the pints and wine were nice.

food and atmosphere was spectacular, but the attitude from the server we had was appalling, when we were ordering we had to point to what we wanted on the menu. it seemed like she didnt know what was on the menu
The Gibson HotelResponded on 19 November 2024

That certainly doesn’t meet the high standards we aim for in providing excellent service, and we sincerely apologize for any frustration it caused. We will be sure to address this with our team to ensure all staff are fully knowledgeable about our menu and provide the attentive service our guests deserve.
