This 16th century inn set in the heart of the Kentish weald just oozes character and history, with its wealth of exposed beams and a magnificent orangery overlooking the private garden. A traditional lynch gate and a herb garden just add to its charm.

The mediterranean-style stone terrace is the ideal place to enjoy summer evenings.

Our menu is made up of traditional English cuisine, regional French brasserie-style cuisine created by our chef as well as local seasonal game.

Nice atmosphere, cosy pub. Pizza seemed to take long time & disappointed had missed off the pine nuts, but happily gave us some in a dish to sprinkle on, but it was quite bland, being goats cheese & beetroot, but really missed the tomato base. Lovely deserts but as most places, a little over priced. Pretty little garden to sit in weather permitting. Not really a place I would take children.

My favourite place for Sunday lunch . Helpful , friendly yet professional staff. The food is consistently good. I am always recommending people to visit

The Great House has such a lovely ambiance, the staff are all so friendly and Gina our waitress was exceptional! The food was delicious, two of us had a pizza for a main course absolutely great!! Well done

We have been to the Great House a few times for Lunch This time was as usual very good, and was pleased to find that the Fish and Chips was on offer. Cheese board allows you to select chees by pottion, I selected 3, very nice but so generous took some home

Soggy pizza, ribeye steak small and chewy and the chip were definitely not hand cut more like out of a pack overall very disappointing
