About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighbourhood gem
  • Great for fine wines
Owned and managed by husband-and-wife team, Daniel Crump MCA and Margriet Vandezande-Crump, the restaurant was crowned the 24/25 AA Restaurant of the Year (England).
Based in a 17th century coaching inn in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town, it has also been voted an OpenTable Diners’ Choice, one of the most romantic restaurants in the UK, and named among the top 100 restaurants in the country by SquareMeal.
The Grade II-listed venue has a variety of spaces where guests can enjoy a meal or drink.
The various menus showcase a commitment to using the best seasonal British produce available, including that grown in the kitchen garden. Vegans, vegetarians and guests with dietary requirements receive an equally special dining experience.
The Greyhound also has a diverse wine list, which won an AA Notable Wine List Award. As well as the wine list developed by Margriet, who is certified with the Court of Master Sommeliers, there is also a wide range of international beers.

Simply the best. This applies to the excellent food, gold standard service and wonderful ambience. Running a high quality restaurant with today`s huge energy costs, increasing labour costs following last year`s Budget and rising food costs, represents a huge challenge but The Greyhound continues to provide great value given the product delivered.

This lovely restaurant is one of our favourites but it was the first time that I was not impressed by the food. The moules mariniere were cold and tasteless, very disappointing. The main course was not memorable indeed I have forgotten what I had!!! As usual the service was efficient and friendly. I didn't like the butter served with the rolls, can I please have "normal' butter next time??

The food was very good but I was disappointed with my starter of roasted celeriac with pearl barley,, sea beet and nashi pear. It as presented beautifully but the size was so small and very overpriced at £17. We were offered more bread which never arrived and our side plates were taken away. Our mains were delicious but there as not enough sauce served with it the halibut. Our overall experience was good but I think the food was overpriced.

The food was good without being brilliant but relatively expensive for the ingredients. Accompanying wine flight was ok. Staff were friendly and attentive but a little too enthusiastic at times. Overall we had a nice evening. We don’t think we would rush to return but certainly wouldn’t say no if invited to visit.

Wow what a great meal with the most delicious of food presented beautifully. The tasting lunch menu was so tasty. The staff are friendly but professional and clearly enjoy their job. The restaurant is in an old coaching inn and is decorated beautifully. Definitely worth a visit.

An absolute favourite place to go to. The Greyhound never fails to deliver excellent food with passion & warmth. Went for my daughters 30th and they added little touches to add to the fantastic experience
