Welcome to The Greyhound, a 17th century coaching inn, in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town.
Owned and managed by husband and wife team, Daniel Crump and Margriet Vandezande-Crump, the pub and restaurant was named as the ‘One to Watch in the UK’s prestigious Top 50 Gastropubs Awards, named a TripAdvisor 2021 Travellers’ Choice Award Winner, and voted the best restaurant in Bucks & Oxon by guests in the annual Muddy Stilettos awards.
The Greyhound is made up of 3 key areas for guests to enjoy: an intimate drinking lounge and outside drinking terrace, the main restaurant for dining (upstairs and downstairs), and an outdoor covered and heated dining terrace.
The different menus showcase a commitment to using the best seasonal British produce available.
The Greyhound also stocks a diverse wine list, developed by Margriet, who is a certified sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, as well as a wide range of international beers.

Another wonderful dining experience at this fabulous restaurant. The food, prepared by head chef George and his excellent team, is exquisite. All the dishes are outstanding but special mention must be made of the deliciously subtle crab, which is is my wife`s favourite, and the sweetbreads which are to die for being marshmallow tender inside with a tangy glaze on the outside. This is superb cooking and all the dishes are beautifully presented. I have eaten all over the World and I have never experienced better service than that enjoyed at The Greyhound. The front-of-house staff are not only professional, efficient and incredibly warm and friendly but also knowledgeable about each dish and the wines. This is so impressive. The atmosphere is delightful. The sixteenth century, wood beamed interior has been beautifully renovated to provide a classy and tasteful interior but which retains the Old World charm. How this place has not been awarded a Michelin Star is beyond me.

I’ve been to the Greyhound on numerous occasions and it never disappoints. The small touches like the amuse bouches, detailed knowledge on the source of ingredients set this apart from other restaurants in the area. The team are so friendly and welcoming and make you feel like friends. Surely it’s only a matter of time before they’re awarded a star.

A night out for our joint January birthdays, what a wonderful dinner. We had the tasting menu and it was exceptional, every bite was delicious. The staff went above and beyond and no ask was too much, a truly wonderful experience!

We had the tasting menu. The roasted celeriac and Brixham crab courses tasted acidic and the Glazed Sweetbreads were rubbery. The best course was the Prune Soufflé. It was very disappointing and expensive.

The greyhound is a very special place. The food is extraordinary, the service exceptional. In someways it is like eating with your best friends because you are made so welcome. Don’t think that what you order is all you get. There are little food surprises along the way to tickle your taste bud
