   With the ratings we saw, we had high expectations, and felt good walking in, the restaurant is beautiful, our server was nice and polite. The Raclette Fondue was delicious. The Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Mushrooms served with it were well seasoned and very tasty as were the meats. After that dinner went down hill. It took forever to get our drinks, seemed like the server forgot or was overwhelmed. He brought me the wrong drink but I drank it anyway. There was a lot of confusion amongst staff, the sommelier came to our table inquiring about a wine question, which was from an adjoining table, not ours. Twice they tried to deliver items to our table that were for someone else. We all ordered fish entrees, Halibut for myself, Salmon for my so and “Dover Sole” for my daughter. I’ve had and made olive oil poached halibut and it’s delicious and I was looking forward to it, expecting that silky buttery texture and olive oil infusion. Sadly it was bone dry, chewy and had no flavor at all. After one bite I sent it back, which I never do, having been in the restaurant business for 36 years. My sons Salmon was also very overdone and flavorless and the sear on it had an acrid taste to it. He also sent it back and we decided to split the Half Chicken, which was delicious it was moist, juicy, and flavorful as were the sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts served with it. My daughters “Dover Sole” was anything but, I couldn’t disseminate what kind of fish it was but it was thick and tough to cut, not delicate and succulent like real Dover Sole is and it too was well under seasoned. But she didn’t want to send it back and ate it. Then the manager comes to our table to question what happened, I explained and he said the chicken we ordered would not be on the bill. I said that wasn’t necessary, we just wanted good food. Not only did they leave the chicken on they also charged us for the fish we sent back. The server said he was told to leave them on the bill. Very unprofessional.

   We had the Christmas Day Pre fixe 3 course meal and it was absolutely wonderful! The service was fantastic and the restaurant was gorgeous.

   We are always looking for a place for Sunday Brunch. In our area brunch is seasonal and during this visit it was the first Sunday brunch of ski season. We were so pleased they were open! The kitchen gave us an outstanding brunch - perfectly cooked eggs and steak, delicious hollandaise, lux salads and a special chocolate desert for my mom, turning 92. We celebrate her birthdays now with as many adventures and lovely food experiences as we can and Hermitage is first on the list. The staff and the owner of the Hermitage always make their guests feel special. We found the perfect bottle of wine in their extensive cellars and enjoyed our experience immensely. The snowfield view out the windows and the cozy atmosphere of the Tavern room provided us with the perfect place for a good old fashioned family catch up. Our waitress was just delightful and the owner opened our wine for us and chatted a bit. Thank you Hermitage. We will come back for brunch as long as you offer it this season. There is nothing that comes close in the area.

   the Thanksgiving buffet was extensive and most of the selections were very good. The desserts were a disappointment, however, the mains & appetizers were very tasty. All in all, it was good but not great.

   We sat at the bar and Max was outstanding. We were there toward the end of the night (8-9) so quieter which was perfect fir what we were looking for. Chef finished shirt and came over and thanked us for coming in which was sweet. We always love our night’s here and are never disappointed.

   Service was VERY slow and halibut had NO flavor and lobster tail was meager for $70.00!

    Wonderful property and excellent dining experience. We celebrate all of our special occasion at the Hermitage and they never disappoint! Its a very special place.
