We’re a 17th century dog friendly coaching inn run by husband and wife team Tom and Claire. There isn’t a straight line in the place and we’ve kept the old character of the pub while injecting some more contemporary charm of our own. Our monthly menu showcases the best the local area has to offer featuring things like hogget reared in the village and wild garlic picked from local woodland. Our bar is stocked with locally brewed hand pulled ales, a wide variety of spirits and a good selection on tap with bar snacks alongside at the weekend. New for this year we now have a beautiful outdoor seating and dining area where you can catch the afternoon and early evening sun while trying to spot every one of Tom’s 32 fish (they’re not on the menu though!)

Excellent food, pleasant service. We were half way through a journey to Scotland for a short holiday . We had very good meals during the holiday but this stood out as the best. Don’t miss out on the lamb Henry.

Lovely meal, locally produced steak was perfect. Duck also perfect. Great ambience in the restaurant. Not your typical pub food. Restaurant food in a friendly local pub. Great menu at a great price.

We enjoyed the Monday Night Special Deal menu for its variety despite not being very long. Very tasty, together with welcoming and attentive service. Extremely good value for money. We'll be back!

Attended with family for Sunday lunch. Overall a good experience, only negative was roast potatoes were rather overcooked and hard to cut which was a shame. Food was very tasty, well presented and the service was relaxed but good. Will be revisiting!

Really good food. It would have helped if the menus had given more information about what was in the dishes. For example, I avoided the jerk chicken because of the bao bun being cakey refined carbs, but it came with salad and slaw. Had I known that, I would have had that rather than the two spoons of humus with crackers; my buddy definitely won that one! The quality of the food was excellent, however. You could tell that the steak burger really was from steak and everything was cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a quality meal in a peaceful environment.
