   We had a very nice family dinner in a great ambiance, the service was right on the level of what it takes to be on point than needed and invisible when not. The location of the courtyard is just what we love and seldom find.

   Great location on the river. Ate outside and very enjoyable. Food nothing outstanding but the view makes up for it.

   Great location. Close to the Performing Arts Center. Perfect for dinner and a show. The patio seating by the river is perfect when the weather allows for it. The service was on par. The drinks were wonderful. The food was exquisite. We had the burrata with roasted strawberries. What a delicious paring it included some prosciutto , pesto, olive oil and balsamic drizzle. We shared the surf and turf board for two. The shrimp were huge, perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. The veggies were wonderful. The steak had great flavor, but was slightly overcooked. The chocolate cake was a perfect way to end the meal.

   This is our favorite place to dine before a show at Broward Center of the Performing Arts. We have season tickets to the the theater and dine here often for brunch/lunch. The location is perfect, the restaurant is beautiful and the food is always delicious. The croissants are amazing! The service is also on point,especially if you get Liz as your server.

   It was my first time at The House on the River and it was a good experience. The food, drinks and atmosphere was great however there was a couple of things that could have made it a five star experience.

   This is a beautiful location, it’s too bad the restaurant experience doesn’t even come close . Aside from our server, the entire experience was not very good. I chose this restaurant for the location and reviews. I hate to leave a bad review , but diners should know what to expect and owners should do something to improve the overall experience. My first clue should have been when more than half the tables were empty on a Friday night. Later in the evening, two bachelorette parties showed up. Aside from us and them, it was pretty empty and desolate. We started with calamari(typical frozen, nothing special) artichoke hearts which was one heart ($12) on plate with some sauce, and Parmesan truffle fries(hard to mess that up). Most of our party chose the smash burger, which most likely was the safest thing to order, since smash burgers are cooked one temperature. My filet , was more rare than medium rare. Sent it back, came out better, but was so tough I couldn’t cut it much less chew it. It was odd since it was served with deep fried little new potatoes ( which tasted old) and French fries. Two potatoes? No vegetable. The menu stated “smashed potatoes” not sure what that was because it was not on my plate. The server was apologetic and kind. She did bring out a piece of cake since we were celebrating a birthday. Which was adequate and average. Which is how I would describe the entire meal- .pretty disappointing. This could be a fabulous place, but sadly needs love, lots and lots of love, to possibly restore it to its former glory.. So many better places to dine out, sorry I chose this one for our celebration.

    An excellent venue to have dinner prior to a show at the Broward Center. Food was good but service was a little behind due to everyone showing up at the same time and leaving the same time. Overall it’s a great place with great food.
