   Table was cramped and table cloth wrinkled so made it difficult to set down glasses. Two dishes were overcooked

   Although my family and I had an enjoyable afternoon, it was my birthday so why wouldn’t we? The Afternoon Tea should have left me feeling it was not nearly as good as it should have been. The savoury selection in appearance looked nice but a delicate selection of sandwiches would have been better, the brioche bun was dry. Check out photographs on The Ivy’s website. The scones were not warm and the cupcake was rather large. The vegetarian option was enjoyed by two of our party.

   We dined on the Icons menu which was a perfect choice for lunchtime dining experience. It was our first experience of The Ivy, and we are confident that we will be returning.

   Myself & three friends decided to treat ourselves to Afternoon Tea at The Ivy, Bath. We arrived & asked if we could sit on the terrace as it was a lovely day, this was fine. When seated we ordered tea & coffee & water. We received luke warm tea & coffee so asked for some hot water to top up the pots - we never received this. The water we asked for never arrived, just the glasses. We asked if it was possible to have more cream for the scones, that never arrived! After receiving our initial afternoon tea we weren't asked if we required anything, if everything was ok, we were just left. Any requests we did politely ask for never arrived! We all used the ladies toilet on the terrace & these were not up to the standard you would expect - bin overflowing on to the floor with used hand towels, no fresh hand towels to use - not a good impression for a place you expect high standards in. The afternoon tea itself was very enjoyable but having just one cup of very luke warm coffee/tea with it was not nice & no water either. We didn't pay the service charge that was added as didn't feel we received any service at all! On leaving the premises we were asked by the young lady on the door if we had a nice time. We gave our feedback (the above) & she just said she would 'pass our feedback on'. Unfortunately the whole experience was a disappointment & at £33.95 for afternoon tea you expect more. I have had better experiences at half the price!

    The food was good as usual. Drinks were a bit disappointing though - the “strawberry mojito” must have had essence of strawberry memories, because there was no sign (color or flavor) of strawberry to be found. Service was a bit slow and sporadic despite it not being busy at all, sadly not as good as other Ivy locations I’ve been to. Overall an average experience this trip, but unfortunately it did not meet up to expectations.
