   We had the set breakfast and were very disappointed. The scrambled eggs had a skin on them, as did the tomato, and had obviously been pre-cooked. There was one thin strip of streaky bacon which was hard. The croissants appeared to be heated from frozen as mine was burnt at the sides and white on top. The smoothie had seven ice cubes in and was nearly half a glass. Really poor and I certainly would never return for breakfast again.

   Asked for quiet area which is what we had but were seated in a table for two that was half in the passageway and experienced droughts when front door was opened. Restuarant was not especially busy and other later arrivals had larger tables in more ‘sheltered’ locations. Food was lovely, staff helpful and overall we enjoyed our meal and the experience.

   A little disappointing. I’ve been to the Ivy franchise a few times and I think it’s no longer as upmarket as it was once thought to be. It was a very wet evening but I had to ask the receptionist to hang my coat up. Other diners were hanging their wet clothes on the backs of their chairs, presumably because nobody had offered to take them. A small but important service has gone. Our waiter was very attentive but knew nothing about the wine we wanted to try so we had to take a chance. I ordered a medium rare steak but it arrived overcooked. It was good enough anyway, and I was hungry, but when I mentioned it to the waiter he seemed to have nothing to say. I wasn’t looking for anything other than an acknowledgment (and for the chef who’d got it wrong to be informed) but I felt that the restaurant doesn’t expect complaints, which suggests a touch of arrogance and complacency. None of this is good for a chain that positions itself towards the upper end of the middle market and charges accordingly. I’m not likely to go back

   Absolutely stunning place to eat. Food, waiter service, ambience and attention to detail was outstanding, never to be forgotten. Would highly recommend anyone to experience The Ivy in Cheltenham and they made my 50th wedding anniversary special.

   We were a group of five. The service was very good and they gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted to order. The only disappointment for one of our group was that burgers were unavailable. Overall our food was tasty and well presented.

   Lovely experience, good as always delicious clever layout in the private dinning room for more space but tables maybe a little close together but staff were brilliant.
