We arrived early but was told our table was available which was appreciated. However, we were then left for 20 minutes without even a drinks being taken. This was disappointing given the tables our waiter was covering were not that busy. The drinks/wine list was expensive although this was offset by a reasonably priced menu. The glasses were interesting with chunky wine glasses and an even chunkier beer glass. Not very refined although I noted those getting wine from the bar had more appropriate wine glasses. My empty bottle of beer was disappointingly left on the table throughout the meal along with the large glass despite the waiter and workstation being next to us. The food was very good. The place lacked atmosphere with the focus on festive decoration more focussed on those looking at the restaurant from the outside rather than inside. I’m not one for too much decoration but whoever is responsible for the internal presentation clearly works on a minimalistic approach. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. In summary, this is my first time at The Ivy and I came away distinctly under whelmed. There are many restaurants of similar price and quality food with a far better overall dining experience in my opinion.

We booked for the festive afternoon tea, food was lovely, I’m very fussy and sandwich request was fulfilled (pre messaged restaurant). Cakes were tasty and the ivy craft beer washed it all down nicely. Staff were great & was a lovely atmosphere. thank you

Taste is average, service is poooooor. Even missed one of our main courses, better double check with the waitors. Ambience is fine, but a bit too noisy.
