   The service wasn’t the best kept getting loads of different staff who couldn’t be bothered

   We are regulars at the Ivy Temple Row. On this occasion Sat lunch, it was particularly noisy. The hard floors add to the resonance. Unlike the Brighton Asian Ivy, there are no partitions or zones that absorb the noise. We would not go if there was a party of 2 or more due to being unable to hear each other across the table. Incidentally, the diners at both tables beside us agreed and recommended other quieter restaurants. I would certainly avoid Sat evening. Pity as we love the decor, location and service

    A good friend travelled many miles to meet me. I chose the Ivy as I have been going there ever since it opened in Birmingham and eat in the many Ivy restaurants in London and elsewhere. I trust the menu and the wine list. Today the only things that went wrong were a polite request for the table I usually get or the second best table ( in my opinion). Yet having booked several weeks ago both were taken. When were they booked? Secondly the double espresso arrived cold. It was unlike the Ivy to do that. I have known all the previous managers but not the present one. I must introduce myself at my next visit.

We are sorry that your requested take upstairs was not given on Friday. Our reception team always try to accommodate all table requests whenever possible so we are sorry this was not possible during your visit.
