The Joan Bice Underwood Tearoom is a restaurant/classroom teaching operation within Iowa State University’s world-renowned hospitality management program. The Quantity Food Production and Service Management Experience class operates the Tearoom. It is a non-profit, approximately 100-seat learning laboratory. Free parking is available at the ISU Transit Hub just south of C.Y. Stephens Auditorium. Take a northbound bus to reach the ISU campus. There is no charge to take this shuttle to and from campus. Get off the bus at the first stop beyond the Kildee-Bessey transfer point. MacKay Hall is across the street from this bus stop.

Fantastic food for extremely affordable prices and delightfully pleasant service. Food is quick to get and I had what I’m pretty sure was the best brownie of my life here.

Great food, great service, the only thing is that it gets really cold with the air blasting so bring layers!

I've been a student at Iowa State for 5 years, and I finally made it to the Tea Room in my last weeks of college. I'm so glad I did because it was delicious food at an incredible value. It was also great service from my fellow college students!

It was very quiet. Waiters and greeters were awkward and uncomfortable. Food was dry and bland.

The food here was very good. We had the savory chicken crepes and they were very tasty and came quickly which is what we had requested since we only had a 30 min lunch break. It was nice to try something that I wouldn't normally make at home. The only thing I noticed that was strange about the setting was that there wasn't any art on the walls just a couple of TVs. The Staff was super friendly and helpful.
