About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for creative cocktails
  • Fancy
The Korean Cowgirl Restaurant provides a unique blend of Texas and Asian culture and cuisine. Here at the KCG we mean true low and slow smoked BBQ, cooked for hours over only real wood, no short cuts. Our Amazing wings and boneless bites are double fried for that crisp sensation.

Come and experience western dining for yourself.

Please note you are welcome to bring a celebration cake for your party, however we do not have any refrigerated storage for this. We do not provide any table decorations or balloons. You are most welcome to bring your own.

The food was decent but ours came out quite cold, it also took a while to come out considering the restaurant was quiet. It was not worth the price we paid for it. Prior to coming, I spoke to someone on the phone as it was my partners birthday as asked if they provided any special services. I was told yes if we ordered a dessert they could write happy birthday and his name. They also ask you when booking if you are coming for an occasion so this was known to them which was confusing. Despite this, it was difficult for us to get anyone’s attention to place an order for another drink, let alone a dessert with the staff sitting at the bar complaining about their jobs. However the table next to us received great service and it was also their birthday and had staff attending their table frequently, drinks topped up and staff making conversation about their birthday plans which seemed nice. They also came after us, yet received their food first and had a free drink for their birthday (the lady who seated us asked if we were there for a special occasion which we said yes a birthday, so felt it was only right to treat us the same as any other customers who’s birthday it was)! It was if our table was invisible to them as we had no one check in on us or ask if we wanted any more drinks/if the food was ok. If it was a busy night we could have understood but overall it was terrible service which is why we removed the service charge. The attitude, nasty looks and vibe was off!It took my partner whose birthday it was to go up to the staff who were chatting at the bar to ask for the bill as they were ignoring us so we could just leave. One of the staff members rolled her eyes as it seemed we bothered their conversation. They didn’t question why we wanted the service charge removed they were happy to do so, and seemed like they wanted us out. Very disappointing as we had high hopes it was going to be a great evening for my partners birthday which ended up bringing our evening down!

Food was great. They had a private event on at the same time so was waiting 20 minutes for a coke, service wasn’t as good as it usually is not sure if it’s because they were more focused on the event.

This is our third visit to the restaurant and unfortunately it feels like each year it goes downhill a bit. Whilst I'm aware that they were a little short-staffed, they were pretty helpful in general and did their best to attend to everyone. Multiple apologies weren't needed, especially when we weren't waiting. Staff could learn the menu better and how to pronounce more unusual menu items. Unfortunately it was the food and ambience that tipped it into 3 stars for us. The lighting was much too low and I had to use my phone torch to see the menu. We were given a seat that felt a little like a corridor to the kitchen and bathroom, and the quality of the burger was far below what I expected in terms of size and texture (I did ask for well done due to pregnancy, but it was on the chargrilled side). I've eaten better at McDonald's.The milkshakes are a redeeming feature however. I was also a little concerned that bonus birthday treats were left on the side for several hours in the restaurant and was relieved that we didn't get one for our anniversary in the end. We appreciated a drink on the house due to a rogue email I received the previous week offering one.

We were brought vouchers as a Christmas gift, the food was great, service was absolutely horrendous! We ordered a round of drinks when our food was brought out and they eventually arrived about 40 minutes after we had finished our meal! No one checked if our food was ok even when we paid the bill! Had to ask for our bill 3 times before actually receiving it. Have always highly recommended the Cave hotel & Korean cowgirl previously, but this was very disappointing for a ‘luxury restaurant’ and the price you pay, we definitely won’t be rushing back!
