A UNIQUE DINING EXPERIENCE
We've combined the essence of historic downtown Wallingford with exquisite cuisine, along with a worldwide wine selection to bring you Wallingford's most unique dining experience.

The Library Wine Bar and Bistro is Wallingford's original town library. Built in 1899, it was passionately and lovingly restored back to its classic, architectural beauty in 2014.

Executive Chef Jonathan Harris, and the Massella family invite you to come and dive into a new chapter of an old Wallingford landmark. Savor the comforts of traditional cuisine, wine, and spirits while nestled at a comfortable table near our cozy fire, and let the story begin!

We asked for a booth that we were set at a table that was very small for two people why everybody else you had two people sat at larger tables. It could accommodate four people. Our service was rather poor. We felt neglected compared to some of the other customers that had their waiters come by frequently We felt maybe it was related to the fact that we didn’t order any alcohol drinks

Food and service was good. My salmon was the best I’ve had in while; tender, mild and a hint of sweetness. Well prepared. My husband’s steak filet was good, too. The problem, if you will, was a dirty, run down restaurant, badly in need of cleaning and painting. The floor was sticky, the table was sticky with old varnish, a mirror above the unlit fireplace was fogged with grease. Painted and baseboard trim was filthy too, with accumulated dirt in every corner. Then there was the one and only bathroom, which was disgusting. My rule of thumb is that when a restaurant is dirty, so is the kitchen. It’s a shame, because the architecture is pleasing and it could be beautiful, as it likely was when it first opened. We won’t go back.
