The Lobster Club, a Japanese Brasserie by Major Food Group, is a fixture within Midtown Manhattan's iconic Seagram Building. Designed by architect Peter Marino in collaboration with MFG, the dynamic space reflects an outstanding – perhaps extravagant - interpretation of Japanese cuisine. Using classic techniques like tempura, gyoza, yakitori and robata, along with a focus on Teppanyaki and Sushi, The Lobster Club sources fish directly from Tokyo's Tsukiji market to ensure the highest level of quality.     We were attracted to the restaurant by proximity to our hotel and good reviews. We love Japanese food and hoped this would be a good example of this type of cuisine. We were more than impressed by our experience. Each of the orders for appetizers, salads, and entrees were enough for two and we did our best to finish them. Surprising presentations with great flavor greeted us along the way. The waiter help us make good choices and was attentive a well. A beautiful room, great energy, and attractive guests filled the place with an energy that added to the night. Highly recommend.

    Much better experience for lunch than dinner. A little touristy at dinner. At lunch, not one tourist.

    It’s hard to find bad restaurants in New York. And here you have one. Nothing special at all. You can find better sushi. The fried rice was very oily, especially for Japanese food. Roasted mushroom was a giant lump drizzled in sauces which did nothing. Slow unfriendly service. The space has a mix of tables and low seat couches. No one wants to eat on a couch. We had a table and the couches were empty. The place was half empty on a Saturday night. For good reason. Won’t be return. Sorry I wanted time and money there.
