A traditional pub serving contemporary English food in the heart of Fitzrovia. The Lore is composed of The Pub on the ground floor, The Kitchen on the first floor and Private room with bar on the top floor.

All of our food is freshly prepared by Head Chef Michal Kaszuba and his brigade in the Lore kitchen on the first floor. Our menus have been created especially to reflect the seasons, when ingredients are at their very best.
Our legendary Sunday roast is slow-cooked with delicious trimmings.

THE PUB
A copper and pewter topped bar serving a range of beers, including our very own Gritchie brews, premium spirits, cocktails and selected wines. The walls are adorned with eclectic and original artwork.

THE KITCHEN
Open plan but still intimate. Experience the sight and sound of our open kitchen with the Chefs cooking on our bespoke, charcoal fuelled oven and char-grill.

THE PRIVATE ROOM
A wonderful private room with private bar on its own floor.

Mixed bag. Very lovely intimate dining room with the pass in the same room. The food was all delicious although I did find a hair in my starter. I didn’t complain so it’s probably not fair to write it in my review but I’d expect better from a place like that. The real let down though was waiting 40 mins to get our bill and pay. It took the head chef to notice how fed up we looked and flagged someone down. The menu was nice and a bit different and I would go back.

Great food and staff. Went with 3 meat eaters who thought the lamb and steak were the best they have ever had I’m vegan and the chef went out of his way to make a great vegan meal for me.

Service was great, the table wasnt ready straight away so we had a drink at the bar before being taken up to our table, the staff were very friendly and had plenty of time for us. The food was unbelievable. We had duck scptch eggs, bread and garliv butter and venison tatare for starters and the family sharer roast for mains. All the meats were amazing the vegetables were beautiful. The chef came over to our table to answer questions we had about how some of the food was cooked which was nice to talk to him and learn a bit about how he goes about his business. Overall a great experience and was 100% worth the 11 month wait for our booking.

The roast pork was lovely but the roast combo which was meant to be beef and pork came out as beef and lamb, the waiter quickly apologised and offered to bring pork over to which the chef was visibly unimpressed. The lamb and beef left was grey, covered in fat and I indistinguishable from one another. After raising with the waiter a new plate was brought over with the meat remaining fairly unappetising and fatty. Very disappointing considering you wait 11 months for a table. It seemed the combo roasts just use scraps of the meat.

We had a lovely time, Our waitress Cher was outgoing and helpful. The duck egg and the veal tartar were excellent. The wine we wanted was not on the menu due to low stock but Cher was able to get a bottle. The roast lunch was good not outstanding. The only thing that let it down was when we ordered our dessert unfortunately Cher forgot to put through the whole order and we had to wait for over 30minuts for the rice puddings. I had to ask for the puddings a few time before it arrived, In fairness to the management we were not charged for the rice puddings. Overall a good experiance.
