   We had a lovely meal today. The table was great and spacious for 8 of us, there was plenty of choice for everyone's taste. The food came out quickly and was delicious, everyone loved their meal. The staff were friendly and polite and very helpful. Will definitely be coming back for many meals.

   How do they provide such a great range of food out of such a small kitchen…but they do. Typical village pub with great range of drinks and food. Has been just the same these last 50 years. Great value for money, phenomenal choice and the staff are terrific. Cannot fault The Malt Shovel.

   Arrived and sat for nearly 25 min awaiting order to be taken while others around coming in and being served Food arrived 2 or the 3 meals where extremely undercooked.Steaks blue rather than medium rare. Everyone's chips and veg were stone cold and limp. Sent one of the steaks back in the end as was having trouble cutting it due to it being pretty much raw. It came back about 3 minutes later obviously thrown in the microwave,was medium rare at this point but tough and inedible and everything on the plate was still stone cold. So gave up left it and paid and went without dessert. Two of the other tables around us also were having problems with their meals although wasn't at all busy like it normally is

   Very slow service considering there were only three tables occupied. Upon receiving my pizza, it was lukewarm with a crust I found difficult to cut through-rock hard!

   Took my wife, kids and 9mth old grandson today and we all loved it. Portions are big and a great price. Staff was lovely and polite. Many thanks Malt Shovel.

   Everything was great apart from the ending there was a party of 8 who were stood at bar waiting for us to vacate our table and we had not had pudding but if had of done we’d of been there longer and could hear them talking about us hurrying up but would say was as much the venue at fault for not leaving enough time between bookings apart from that was all good
