We were left for quite a while before someone came to take our order and then when the order was taken it was very rushed, we had to order drinks, starters and mains all at once! We got our starters and had to chase for our drinks, which didn’t feel very good and added to the sense that everything was rushed and disorganised. Such a shame as the food was, as always, amazing!!

Very good Sunday lunch. Good choice of meals, including the vegetarian options. Well styled restaurant, friendly and professional service and good ambiance. A great pub.

The idea of the Portuguese tapas was very good however we did find the dishes disappointing the steak was tough and almost impossible to eat also on the desserts the almond cake was dry tasteless and very dense

“Fantastic experience all around for an impromptu Tuesday evening! We booked our reservation for a belated wedding anniversary celebration, and everything exceeded expectations. If someone ordered our meal and experienced it from start to finish, they’d give it high marks. My wife started with the Scotch Egg, and I had my usual Pork Belly Bites, which were as delicious as ever. For mains, my wife had the Sea Bass, and I went with the Belly Pork—both were incredible. The Tiramisu, a new addition to the dessert menu, was a delightful surprise. As someone who makes it at home and receives high praise, I can confidently say theirs was unique and outstanding. To make the evening even more special, the staff surprised my wife with a complimentary treat after our meal—a thoughtful and unexpected gesture that added a wonderful, personalized touch to the night. Local folks should definitely try these dishes! I take this gem for granted as I venture out to other villages in Kent. Sometimes, the best things are right in front of you. The only minor letdown was that my wife wanted a whiskey sour, which wasn’t available (not on the menu). In my opinion, a bar should be prepared to make classic cocktails, but that’s just a suggestion. Overall, a truly memorable and enjoyable experience—highly recommended!”
