Butcher block special last night was a Wagyu New York strip steak. Best steak I’ve ever had! The salad was delicious, the Ahi tuna was also really good, and the cappuccino was perfect.

I really don’t like posting such negative reviews but I feel compelled since we spent a lot of money on a lousy meal. The lettuce salad sat on a bed of what tasted like just mayonnaise totally over done when the lettuces had a vinaigrette on them already. The “seared” ahi was not properly seared and had absolutely no taste. The carrots sat on a purée that was unidentifiable and cold. My husband’s burger was good but I watch the open kitchen as the fries sat under the warming light for quite a while waiting for the rest of the food. It was my birthday and I couldn’t find a dessert that tempted me whatsoever. Again, I’m sorry to have to post this but $150 later we should have been a little satisfied with the meal but unfortunately not. All glitz but no substance.

Husband and I came here on a Wednesday night for dinner. Decided to try the tasting menu with the wine pairing, one of us did the drinker and one of us did the thinker! Every single dish and wine pairing was absolutely divine!

Had a wonderful meal to celebrate our anniversary during restaurant week. The host greeted us with “Happy anniversary” and the staff signed an anniversary card which was given to us upon seating. A very special touch. Our waitress Yvette had a bubbly personality and was very attentive. We were treated to a glass of sparkling wine to start off our anniversary dinner. The dinner was awesome. Linguine carbonara was excellent as was the main pork chop dish. Both desserts (lemon cheesecake and chocolate bar) were divine and specially marked with “happy anniversary”. The Matheson really made our anniversary dinner special.
