The Mendip Inn is an exciting country pub and coaching rooms concept at the foot of the Mendip Hills, near Glastonbury, owned and run by Michael Porter.

Styled by the talented team behind Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, The Mendip Inn takes the concept of a great British Pub and adds an exciting, contemporary style of its own, to the food and design, without losing that sense of welcome you receive at the very best pubs. First class service is at the heart of all that we do.

The Mendip Inn offers a fantastic, modern and fresh à la carte menu, seven days a week. We have a weekly specials menu, highlighting local, seasonal produce, cooked to express the flavours of the ingredients, with a twist on exceptional pub recipes. We run two specials offers Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) on our lunch menu which are 2 for £20 on our Ciabattas and 2 for £25 on our Mains and Sundays are, of course, for fabulous traditional roasts.

A lovely welcome when we arrived. I asked if I could bring my dog in to the restaurant and they said I could. She lay down on her mat beside the table. We ordered drinks, they arrived together with a cup with three biscuits for our dog. Two of us chose Beef Bourginoine which was delicious, tasty and hot. The Inn was busy but the waitress was attentive and pleasant. I would highly recommend.

Calm and cosy atmosphere but the starter was the prawn cocktail which was caked in this Perrynaise that completely overpowered any taste of prawn, it’s when we got to the mains that visually looked very nice apon eating found the vegetables to be undercooked potatoes to be slightly bland and abit depressing the cauliflower cheese to be disappointing as the cheese was not cheesy and felt like it was thrown together and found the Yorkshire pudding to be rubbery and soft all of this was beside the point of the fact I would of been happy to pay the £19 they charge for the roast if it were much better but unfortunately felt underwhelmed on a hood note the staff were excellent in giving detailed opinions of different dishes they would personally recommend food was quick out the kitchen we were well looked after by staff and the drinks passed the time and allowed us to laugh and have a good time

Lovely pub, OK welcome, great service, food delivered to the table quickly. However, we should have been suspicious that the food came to our table within about 5 minutes because, while it looked lovely and there was enough food - It Was Not Hot. In fact, it was barely warm. There were 3 of us and we all had tepid food. The roast potatoes were difficult to cut into and were quite chewy. The Yorkshire puddings were large and tasted good but were quite doughy. Such a shame. We spent just short of £100 incl a bottle of £26 house white. Costly mistake. Never mind, we won't be going back in a hurry.

Last minute booking for dinner. We had no expectations but were very impressed by the food. Three courses and very reasonably priced. The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Would we visit the Mendip Inn again? Yes, without hesitation.

As we had friends from Manchester staying in Bath for a few days we were looking for somewhere to have Sunday lunch which was halfway distance to travel for both of us. We decided on The Mendip Inn and couldn’t have chosen a better place. The booking was easy to make and the service, menu choice was excellent and the meal itself was delicious. We will definitely re-visit at another time.

Excellent service, friendly waitresses, superb food...hot, well presented and tasty. Good value. Plenty of car parking space. A very enjoyable lunch time experience. Thank you.
