Classic Irish cuisine from chef Sean Smith in the Kildare countryside.

Sean’s mouth-watering new menu is as always sourced locally with some ingredients even grown on the very grounds of the Cliff at Lyons Estate. Food lovers will enjoy classics such as Roast Rib of Beef, Cherry Valley Duck Breast and Oven Baked Baby Turbot with sides of seasonal vegetables, mini Seafood platters and of course for something a bit sweet, Whiskey & Orange Ice Cream or Chocolate Fondant with Salted Caramel Ice Cream.

The Mill restaurant is the heart of Cliff at Lyons, with huge double-height ceilings, warm open fire and windows that open up to a terrace beside the mill race and waterfall. Here, you will find a relaxed style of dining where it is easy to enjoy a lunch or dinner with friends or family. The illuminated waterfall provides a unique back drop to this airy and spacious room.

Food was delicious and the setting is beautiful, however a strong smell of smoke from the open fire took a lot away from the enjoyment of the food.

The Mill Restaurant is a charming setting with a lovely ambiance. The beef carving at our table was a theatrical and delicious experience. The cheese plate was a perfect ending, with a great variety of Irish cheeses. The service was impeccable, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

The atmosphere, food and cocktails were amazing. We loved everthing about the place. We will definitely be back. The only negative I could find was that service was a bit slow in the bar but once we realised we could walk out to the bar in the restraint to order, it was much quicker that way.

High end restaurant so expectations were very high. Lovely setting. And service very good. We were a party of 5, so 3 steaks and 2 duck as mains. Steak was great. Duck...ok. main meat part good, but skin...still a bit too fatty..no crispness. Expensive, As expected but such a cost must come with an almost perfect food experience. It's not that, but it is well worth a visit as the experience is good.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted and made to feel welcome. There was a huge open fire, where we had pre dinner cocktails,I highly recommend the Wibble, then we were shown to our table,in a beautiful dining room. The waiters were friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was not huge, which is always a good sign in my experience, just enough variety. I had squid for starters and venison for main, which was so tender. The dessert of chocolate mousse was delicious and the waiter recommended a lovely Pinot Noir which complimented the food. 5 stars across the board. We will be back.

Beautiful setting, lovely staff and great food. Best way to spend NYE2024. We really loved it and I thoroughly recommend it. Our waitress was just lively, friendly without being intrusive, knowledgeable and charming. The food was gorgeous and the chefs choice surprises were an added treat. We will be back
