The Milsom is Bath’s newest bar and restaurant with rooms, where country retreat meets city chic in a Grade II listed building. Two-tone timber and original Victorian tile flooring set the scene for a relaxed atmosphere while crackled leathers and contemporary artwork sit alongside the original features of the former bank building. Whether you’re looking for a glass of champagne and oysters after shopping, a place to celebrate a special occasion or a luxurious base to explore all that Bath has to offer, The Milsom caters to all.

Located on Milsom street in the heart of Bath, the team look forward to welcoming you.

Don’t bother. When I booked for Sunday lunch I stated that the dietary requirements was for gluten free options to be available. We were seated and ordered our drinks. The wine arrived still corked. Had to ask for it to be opened. Then asked for gluten free menu. We were told to go on an app to select from. Not easy to read. Then told that these are not available on Sundays. They also said ALL Sunday roasts had gluten and the chefs weren’t willing to accommodate non gluten roasts as they are supplied from outside. We then left without ordering anything as they couldn’t accommodate dietary requirements. Would NEVER RECOMMEND this place.

Not good - lots of things not available on a Saturday night. People next to us had a starter that was still frozen. Items missing from our meals. Staff were trying their best but there seemed to be an underlying problem somewhere.

I wonder why bath continues to like the gentlemen club look for bars and restaurants . The menu consists of the same dishes that most restaurants produce . Not very imaginative. It was quiet and relaxed the service was good

No one to welcome at entrance, took ages to order both a drink and then food. Fish and chips - fish was so bland and batter was soggy and didn’t taste nice, however the burgers were good and chips were good. Staff waiting were slow and a bit disinterested, one decided to move tables next to us and lay them, smashing glasses all over the table and seat, narrowly missing me. This could’ve waited until we had left as it was not busy at all. Puddings very disappointing - children’s chocolate mousse was a dollop of unset chocolate mush and ice creams were bland and pricey at £2.50 a scoop. Sticky toffee pudding I’m told was good. Sadly, not a great experience, £60 later we regretted choosing to try The Milsom, which we only did because it was fairly new and they advertised 1/3 off food - this offer ended the previous day and was only Mon-Fri. No set menu which is only offered Mon-Thurs. Disappointing all round, maybe explains lack of customers on a Saturday night.

This was my first visit to the Milsom with a friend who was visiting from France. The manager was very welcoming and his knowledge of the building and its history was very interesting and it was refreshing to have someone who is passionate about their surroundings and also about the history of Bath. The set menu was very good value for money.

Wasn’t happy having reported to have found a dark hair in one of the breakfasts, their response was very blasé and not infitting with the prices and standard you’d expect in such a lovely setting

Very good value for money set lunch deal on a Monday. The starters and main was very good and we were fairly full by the time of dessert. The waitress’ were great hosts and the decor and ambience was lovely.

What used to be Loch Fyne (after it was a bank) has now been thoroughly ‘done over’ into a restaurant ‘with rooms’ and vey nice it looks too. Money and imagination has been put in to make a very stylish dining place. The high level booths with banquettes were ideal for our group of 6, including 2 under 12s. The menu is very good and - at £23 for 3 courses - the set menu is good value. Starters are substantial and well presented. It was a pleasant change to see that the childrens’ menu included a (small) steak and chips rather than the usual chicken nuggets/fish fingers. The only downsides were outside staff’s control . There appeared to be only one person in the kitchen, so service was painfully slow (we arrived at 1 and left at 330) but that was understandable given that it was between Christmas and New Year. And as we were finishing the power went out as water gushed through the ceiling in the reception area, so we were (safely) ushered out in darkness as the restaurant closed.
