Old Town Scottsdale’s heart beats to a Latin drum at The Mission where renowned Chef Matt Carter (Zinc Bistro and Fat Ox) brings a modern twist to Latin cuisine blending influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America and South America.

Sip a signature margarita with unique flavors such as cucumber jalepeno or aguacate (yes, we said avocado) as you watch your Tableside Guacamole made to your taste from more than a dozen fresh ingredients.

Home made tortillas, and salsas are made fresh daily to accompany an assortment of meats and seafood prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor. And save room for dessert including our pumpkin bread pudding or expresso churros.

Amazing food, incredibly slow service. Reservation was for 8:45 and still didn’t have an entree by 10pm. I’ve been several times before and usually it’s much quicker.

Our waitress was terrific and the birthday dessert was a treat. A little slow to get our taco orders out but otherwise the dinner was a huge success

With one exception, we love every aspect (menu, food quality, service) of dining at the Mission. The one aspect that's negative is the noise level. The music is played too loudly which in turn forces guests to speak loudly creating an unpleasant cacophony. That's a real black mark on the dining experience.

Great ambience and energy! Craft Cocktails and Mocktails were very good. Food was delish. Shared many dishes - chips and salsa with real good smoky flavor, Burrata was good, Iberico plums pork was amazing, poblano grits. Flatiron steak was recommended but just okay.

First time in Scottsdale and the locals we asked said to go there. I had already read this online so we went there. Food was delicious, guacamole made at your table was a cool touch and the salsa was also delicious.

Fancy Southwestern cuisine. Food was good. Music was too and annoying. Had to scream to have a conversation. Tables very close together. Our waitress was great and very helpful.

The server was amazing, she made it a completely enjoyable experience. The restaurant is very dark, which makes it hard to see the menus, but the ambiance is nice and the noise level was very quiet. The short rib taco is very good with the shredded beef. I also had the skirt steak taco unfortunately it was very chewy and hard to bite into. I would’ve ordered the guacamole, however I noticed flies on the ingredients. I feel like it should have a cover of some kind over it.
