The food was really lovely, especially veggie choices. The menu was geared towards those who wanted a full lunch, so no light bite options, but a combination of a starter and a side salad did the trick. The service was attentive and friendly and the beer well kept. One note of warning- the publican came over at the end and complained that opentable charges him £2 a head and we had booked for 6 but only 4 people had come. We did apologise right at the start for the absence of our friends and we had already committed to a 10% tip, bringing the cost to around £20 a head. So we left feeling a bit demoralised.

A recent dinner visit to the Montague Inn for my mother's 89th birthday treat was a definite success! There is plenty of parking and the entrance is on the flat. Our booked table was near the fire where there was plenty of room to get around the table. We were served promptly by helpful waitresses with delicious food from a menu which was wide ranging but without too much choice. The pub has a comfortable, busy ambiance and tables are space in such a way that one does not overhear the conversations of others. In all a very positive experience.

Friendly reception and very nice staff served us a delicious lunch. Great burgers and fantastic fish and chips. Too full for pud! Dog friendly as well.
