   I have had much better meals here. Vegetables needed refreshing we came at 6pm so you would expect them to be fresh? Waited ages for someone to take a dessert order I had to flag down a young guy who was taking the order for another table. I asked for the raspberry crème brûlée and a glass of water, another member of my party and another person on another table got their desserts but the other diner and myself had to re ask for ours. After 3 times of asking for a glass of water ended up going to the bar to re ask for my water where I was given my water in a dirty glass and told that there were issues with the orders in the kitchen? Come on Nailers this is the second meal in the last 6 months that we have had substandard service/food quality from you, sort yourselves out, won’t be giving you a 3rd chance!!!!

   The carvery was amazing, plenty of meat and huge range of veg. The staff were very attentive polite and efficient. I enjoyed the honeycomb cheesecake and cream very much.

   We went for a carvery and it was yummy 😋 there was a good selection of meat, including gammon, turkey and beef. There was also a good selection of veg, my favourite being carrots, parsnips, red cabbage and green beans. The veg was nice and crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, my favourite taste. The service was friendly and there was a nice vibe about the place.

   The plates weren’t hot, food was warm only, credit where due, only ever visited on a Sunday and normally full of customers, normally great, no carvery tonight which we were informed of by phone call to advise prior to arrival, only a few customers this evening so standards should be high. As for not complaining at the time - not where food is concerned- Sorry

   Went for a steak to find out couldn’t have one has grill was broken so asked for BBQ burger couldn’t have one so had to settle for a southern fried chicken burger

    I have used the Nailers Arms for a good few years but this will be my last visit. I visited with my wife (we were first in the restaurant) and our order was taken just after midday. As per our usual practice my wife ordered a carvery whilst I ordered off the menu. Normally the item off the menu arrives quickly so my wife waited over a quarter of an hour and then went to get her carvery meal. Over half an hour after placing our order my food finally arrived and I had already chased it up with the waitrss who had taken our order. My order has always arrived with butter to go with the boiled potatoes but not this time so I asked the waitress to bring some . Despite asking for the butter none was forthcoming so I asked at the bar for some. The waitress who had taken both the original order and my request for butter finally brought and just placed it on the table in what can only be descibed as a surly manner. My meal was very good but my wife's carvery could and should have been hotter. When I left I did not leave a tip . Normally I always leave a tip because of the quality of the food and good service. I will not be eating there again.
