   This was our 3rd visit since Christmas. We are not locals, it takes us 45 minutes to get there but it is 100% worth it. The staff are great, they are attentive but not over the top, your wine glass is never empty. We first took our Grandchildren for lunch just before Christmas, they live in Abridge so a great discovery for us, we then took friends in January and family in February, everyone has really enjoyed the experience and will all go back. The food has always been amazing. This is a gem of a place.

   The bar was packed but the restaurant was empty when we arrived. Getting service was difficult. When we got the menus they bore no resemblance to those on the website and in fact had we seen then prior to booking we would mot have booked, most disappointing. The wine menu simply had a list of varietals (merlot, shraz, pinot noir etc) and prices- glasses and bottles. When we asked for more information the waiter was unable to help and the manager told us nothing we couldn’t have worked out for ourselves such as primitivo comes from Italy, no idea about pinot noir etc. it could have come from anywhere. When the food arrived it was adequate. I had calves liver (i had to ask what liver it was) and it was overcooked. Although called the “New” Blue Boar there is nothing new about it that was an improvement. If you are looking for pub grub, it would be ok but we shall not be going there again. It wasn’t cheap either.

   This is the second time we have eaten here. We were impressed the first time and even more so this time. The food is amazing, we had a lovely bottle of Rose the service is great, attentive but not over the top. We will definitely be back.

   First time to visit and it was great. The food and family service was great. The seabass and fillet steak were brilliant and the kids loved theirs especially the spaghetti. Would definitely visit again, and reasonably priced.

   Everything about this restaurant is superb. Dined here a number of times. Good food and service is impeccable. Surroundings cosy and chic. Great restaurant and good value for money.

    The food and service were amazing. We eat out a lot and this was the best Sunday roast we have had, it was so good. We took 3 children with us and were offered a child portion of Sunday roast which was appreciated. We will definitely be returning
