Initial service good. Unfortunately, when food was put down, no offer of condiments, salt, pepper et cetera. I was also missing a napkin. Had breakfast- sadly poached eggs were overcooked. Bacon also tough. Breakfast came with sourdough, it was the smallest piece of toast I’ve seen in my life!! Ambience and decor of the place was nice.

Nothing short of appalling both in terms of quality of food and overall service To begin with our food arrived before we had received our drinks which when asked we were told it was busy at the bar. The food quality was poor, again when we bough this up with the waitress he response was “well I did tell you to order the duck” When the bill arrived I was unprepared to pay the full amount due to the poor quality of food and service. To which a manager was sent over, for us to be told he’d remove the drinks. We weren’t asked if that was acceptable before he was walking away. It’s clear ther is no care given to the customer feedback to which we told him again he seemed like he couldn’t care and walked away. When the bill arrived and the drinks had been removed they had added a service charge which frankly was an insult. All in all a really poor experience for what was set out to be a lovely evening. Whilst the venue is lovely I would not recommend based on the quality of the food and ignorant service.

What used to be competent 'brasserie style' food has been elevated to fine dining. Creative menus cleverly prepared and beautifully presented. Could this be the next Michelin star restaurant in Cheltenham?

Not good, no one at reception desk just cleaning projects on it Walked into restaurant manager was cleaning plates and ignored us, he was speaking to a waiter and carried on cleaning plates. Waiter eventually spotted us. We asked for a table outside, it was dirty. An employee was standing in the doorway with a contractor Food was very average, service after that was ok. The while having drinks outside received no service at all and had to go to the bar Trying to be a top restaurant but run like a poor breakfast bar. I will not be going back so many better managed restaurants in Cheltenham

We really enjoyed our lunch and the sun was shining so we had a superb view! We were quickly served a glass of champagne each, which was an excellent one, not too dry, very smooth. My husband chose the salmon and I ordered the tuna to start. The portions were perfect for us but would perhaps be considered small by others. My Provence rosé was a delight and perfectly chilled and my husband’s Sauvignon blanc was very nice too. The wine choice was limited but well selected! We both went for the steak burger in brioche, which was perfectly cooked but I wished I’d had something lighter (roasted carrot dish sounded interesting) and didn’t finish mine. My appetite is rather small these days and portions are often too large for me. The fries were excellent though. The staff were so lovely, we’d definitely recommend the Nook to anyone and will be going back!

Unable to review really as booked what I thought was an afternoon tea only to be advised when we arrived there weren’t any left. So unable to comment on food or value. Lovely restaurant but poor booking system. Was really disappointed as I had booked for a friends birthday treat.
