   We have frequented the Old England many times over the past 15 years and in terms of food quality this was exceptionally poor to say the least. Prices have gone up for food absolutely everywhere which we are all aware of. However, when you are paying $30-$40 for a meal there, it becomes particularly hard to swallow when the food is average, bland and basic. Not really worth the money. Even if customers aren't quite as vocal as this in their dissatisfaction I can't imagine many people would be itching to go again. Staff and service was good. Food standards are average at most.

   Lovely hotel to enjoy a meal whether as a larger group or a couple. Food is great & always a specials board.

   Had a great lunch with friends all meals especially the Rib Eye were excellent, well presented and good servings.

   Food quite expensive for what you get. Calamari was bland and quite tasteless, burger was average at best. Fish and chips were ok and the goat’s cheese ravioli was fine. Won’t be rushing back.

    My friend and I had the grilled Hake with salad and chips. We both enjoyed our meal but my battered fish tasted a bit oily. We also ordered drinks at the bar. The bar tender was unable to tell me which of the sparkling wines was the least sweet. I was told: “It’s Brut”. As an occasional drinker, that answer told me nothing. I think if you have staff working at the bar then they should have very good product knowledge or at the very least, be polite.
