I made this reservations October 19. Nowhere did it say there were 2 rooms. We were seated in a back room and then back by the kitchen. There was No view, there was no Christmas ambiance. What a horrible experience. We should have had a choice given how long we had this reservation.

The palm court side dining room where we were seated was very hot, and everyone was sweating. It made the experience very uncomfortable.

This is ok if you want to splash out for an Eloise esque experience but the cost does not really mesh with the quality of food. If you want some cute pictures with a big price tag ... Fine, if you are looking for a quality high tea skip

I’ve been several times over the years and consistently had wonderful experiences. We had Sead as our server today and in previous years. He remembered us, and made the tea special for my daughters. It was a wonderful experience. As always the food and tea was delicious. We got lucky and the carolers were performing. The harpist was fantastic as always.

The Palm Court made our Christmas Tea magical. My daughter and I had the best time. We have been to The Palm Court many times and it is always consistently amazing. Our server, Gabby was cheerful and helped make our experience even better.

This is our fifth time attending holiday tea at the Drake, and unfortunately it was a rough experience. I’ll bullet point for simplicity: 1) When checking in on time, the person working the front desk was extremely brusque and dismissive, essentially shooing us to the side to wait an additional 20 minutes. Also, I noted in our reservation that we were celebrating our wedding 2 weeks prior and asked to sit near the harpist/fountain. This was disregarded and we were sat in the back room (where we’d never been sat before), by the constantly swinging kitchen doors. 2) my wife’s teapot did not contain enough leaves, and we had to request extra tea to get more than just flavored water. 3) Our waitress did not explain anything that was on the plates (which we heard other waiters do), and she insisted on slamming out tray and cups down on the table, and walking away without a word. 4) When bringing seconds of sweets and savories, instead of bringing new plates, she put them both on one plate, and then just put that in top of another plate in the tower that still had food on it (the salmon from a sandwich unfortunately infected the chocolate cake with salmon flavor). 5) A waiter poured water on my lap, and on my wife’s plate, and then never returned to refill waters, despite requests for refills. I’ve had so many positive experiences with afternoon tea at the Drake, and am honestly so confused by how it went today. It seemed that if there was an opportunity for something to go wrong, it happened. I noticed other tables looked disappointed with the service they received. At the price point they are charging, they need to seriously revise their customer service, or expect people to start going elsewhere.
