A delightful trip back in time to a gorgeous drawing room from La Belle Epoque, furnished delightfully, excessively and wittily. So easy to enjoy while sipping on delicious cocktails and nibbling on seasonal sharing plates. My most favourite retreat in London 🧡

My friend and I went for a couple of cocktails. It was a little bit odd. On arrival, a member of staff had been outside and was heading back in, but pointedly shut the door behind him, to bar my access - it was as though they didn't want anyone to come in. Perhaps they were fully booked, but I had a reservation so I pushed the door open and joined my friend at our table, but it was a peculiar way to be 'welcomed'. My friend already had a drink, so a couple of minutes after I got there, he caught the waiter's eye so we could order my first drink. Instead, the waiter approached and asked us if we'd like the bill, when we'd only just arrived. They only seemed to have a very small number of worn cocktail menus, and as a result seemed a bit obsessed with getting them back - we weren't allowed to keep hold of a menu to choose different drinks. None of the waiters seemed to know what the others were doing, so service was patchy/clashing and scatty. It gave the sense of being a bit disorganised, without much experienced oversight to draw it all together. I have had a nice time there in the past but I wouldn't now rush to go back. It just wasn't very hospitable.

Lovely, cozy and relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful venue. Food was delicious and there was so much of it. Staff were lovely and attentive without interrupting too much. It was a perfect treat, and we'll be back.

We had afternoon tea at The Parlour at Zetter Clerkenwell. The menu wasn't very clear but once we got that sorted, the food was very good and the place itself was great (although quite hard to find). Service was friendly and helpful. It cost extra to refill the teapots which isn't always the case when you go somewhere for afternoon tea. Main criticism was that there were no boxes / bags to take any scones / cakes that we hadn't eaten home with us.

This was one of the most awful dining experiences I’ve had in my 40 years living and working in london. And it was awful from start to finish. The plan was to find somewhere cozy but cute to host a book club discussion for myself and 7 friends. But it was also my birthday (which I had made clear on the booking but there was no mention not acknowledgment of this whatsoever - very unusual for a restaurant). Firstly it was impossible to book a table for 8. I tried to use the “events” email but they never replied. I called several times, no-one picked up the phone. I had one phone call where the lady accused me of lying about having emailed and in fact shouted at me. I was then told they could not book a table of 8 so I should book 2 tables of 4 which they would put next to each other. They didn’t - instead they cancelled one table of 4 (but then still insisted that we pay for 8 people). I had asked if there was flexibility in booking for afternoon tea or lunch in my booking request. Over the phone, I was told that would be fine and that we could choose on the day. When we got there, there was no flexibility and we were all forced to have afternoon tea! Other things: - we were not given spoons with which to eat some of the afternoon tea desserts so those were wasted -unlike any other afternoon tea I’ve been to, finished sandwiches were not replenished - we could not finish all the scones so we asked if we could take them away, we were told we could not -we asked if we could split the bill manually because some people had ordered extra drinks - we were told that would not be possible (until we insisted) -we never got any tea - the staff were rude and unaccommodating So all in all - it was horrendous and not somewhere I would ever recommend to anyone.

It is a really nice place, but the bar wasn't open and doesn't open until 4.00pm. all that was available was tea and coffee. we visited with a plan to have cocktails so not really great for us.

An excellent spot for light bites, coffee, cocktails whatever. Quiet and quirky surroundings and a relaxed ambience; a Clerkenwell hideaway.
