We are a food focused pub and restaurant offering generous and genuine hospitality from the walls of a historic building.
Head chef Molly Fuge brings local and international flavours together with classic pub dishes like The Petrel Cheeseburger and Lemon Herb Crumbed Snapper + Chips. I’m a regular at the Petrel and it’s always a fantastic experience. The staff are very helpful and professional with a smile. The food is consistently very good and the Chef add’s a creative touch.

I am always so incredibly impressed by the Petrel however extra impressed this evening as I have recently had to cut some allergens out of my diet, making it difficult to eat out. I made note of this when we booked and on arrival was greeted by lovely wait staff asking which in our group had dietary requirements, followed by a menu the chef had prepared highlighted with foods I could eat. The service throughout the evening was absolutely amazing (as usual) and made eating out with dietary requirements such an easy and stress free time! Thank you so much! Absolutely love the space you have created here and your incredible customer service!

Great night until blond waitres ruined it. One of my mates was joking with our waitress that was serving us. Blond waiters came to our table and he continued his joke which blond waitress clearly didn’t get it. None of us were even drunk or rude to her. After we paid the bill in the restaurant we moved to the bar. As I was ordering drinks in the bar she came over and told me that we can’t have any more drinks because of my mate. I could not believe her, a simple joke that she took it completely wrong was.No sense of humour and made us not welcome at all.

the highlight of the Petrel Hotel is the staff who went over and above to look after us. Harriet was cheerful, efficient, extremely helpful with our meal selections. We really did enjoyed her bright personality. We thought the room decor clean, comfortable and airy. The food was enjoyable and the chips perfect. We recommend this Hotel for an enjoyable lunch.

Beautiful fresh well cooked food. Great limoncello spritz. The prawns in the romesco sauce were superb and the octopus cooked perfectly

The hospitality staff, specifically the gregarious female (B) with lots of rings, was outstanding. She was so friendly, and knowledgeable about the delicious food. She was attentive but not over the top. She was the highlight, with the delicious share plates coming a close second. The ambience was cool, as was the music and the decor. This was my first visit, and I will definitely be returning some time soon:) Thank you for a lovely experience.
