From it’s humble beginnings as a pop-up restaurant, to a farmer"s market stand and now a successful brick-and-mortar eatery, The Pig and the Lady, led by twice-nominated James Beard semifinalist Chef Andrew Le (with help from his family including his mother, Mama Le), cook up what is essentially the family meal in the truest sense -- Exposing Honolulu diners a cross-section of cuisine that has Vietnamese origins, but is eclectic and daring.Chef Le and his team have developed a modern, fresh take on traditional Southeast Asian food, utilizing local products -- serving their famous banh mi and pho, along with new favorites. Le is the one of the few chefs cooking contemporary food built on Southeast Asian flavors that has garnered rave reviews -- a foundation built on delicious memories first introduced by his mother. They are open Monday through Saturday, serving lunch and dinner. You can also still find them at the Farmer’s Markets at Blaisdell, Kailua and KCC.

The food was good but the service was awful, our starters came out 20 minute apart and the main courses came out nearly 30 minutes apart with a side of rice coming out 10 minutes after the main course had arrived. The reason given was they only had a small grill!!! Really!! this restaurant that had well over 100 covers, so to use that as a excuse was quite unbelievable. On top of this all the staff walked around looking totally miserable. Such a shame as the food was really quite nice but you couldn't relax or enjoy it.

The food was exceptional. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. The flavors were unique. The service was excellent. The recommendations from our waitress were very good.

The ambiance and the staff were superlative. The raw pork I was served ruined the food score as I could not eat or even cut through my raw pork trotter. Bloody, cold, raw pork and the lentil ragout it was served with was the worst tasting lentil concoction I've ever tasted. My guest also tried it and winced. Not too mention the entire entree was just cold and gross. There was nothing that could save this dish. Very disappointing having heard so many amazing things about this restaurant. On a positive note, the cocktails and the appetizers were very good. Even though were were served the wrong app which we questioned on delivery but was told that it was the correct one. We ate it confused as it did not resemble the description on the menu. Sure enough, it was not what we ordered. That seemed to be a theme of the evening, having other tables orders being brought to our table in error a few times, that we declined and said, you have the wrong table. The Dark Chocolate Carmeux for dessert was very good which they comped along with the vile entree. I was very impressed by our waiter who handled the mistakes with the appetizer and the horrific entree with such grace even asking for our feedback. He had such integrity and was a consummate professional. For that reason alone, I might try this restaurant another time in the future, maybe!!!

I had the oxtail pho which was on special that day. It was delicious. A huge bowl of the most fragrant pho broth along with 3 large pieces of oxtail. Added a bowl of rice. My wife had the hainanese chicken. Tasty but a touch on the dry side. We tried to order a half bottle of high-end champagne (Billecart-Salmon) to celebrate our anniversary, but they were out so we settled for 2 glasses of chenin blanc and saved $100. The only real downside has nothing to do with the food. There is basically only one bathroom for a large place.

Always come to pig and the lady when I'm in Waikīkī and it never disappoints! I'm gluten free and I always tell people that this is the best spot for Pho! Sat at the bar top this time and had the best service!

Haven’t been here in a while. It’s nice to see that it’s still a great lunch place. Our server Sean was very attentive and there were other wait staff they went around ensuring our glasses were filled. All of us had the Hainen chicken and rice meal. Very flavorful and filling.
