Gaylords now rebranded as The Plantation House by Gaylords offers one of Kauai's most beautiful settings for lunch, dinner and happy hour. Located in the historic Kilohana Plantation home, diners are seated around an open-air courtyard with views of the plantation grounds and Mt. Waialeale in the distance. Our kitchen uses only the freshest, seasonal ingredients supporting our local farmers and fishermen. Our 67-acre sustainable farm provides much of the produce and herbs used in our dishes and cocktails. Menu items include starters like fresh Ahi poke, fried brie, fresh seafood, delicious steaks and vegan entrees too. Don't forget about our famous Banana Cream Pie for dessert! Take a walk around the Kilohana grounds, shop in our assorted boutiques, visit the Koloa Rum shop, go on a rum safari adventure or take a ride on the plantation train.

                                                      I had high hopes for this restaurant after seeing it ranked highly on some travel sites. Unfortunately I think they’ve probably gotten a bit too used to the captive cruise ship audience that is bussed in, and captive audiences don’t tend to lend themselves to the pursuit of excellence. The brie and grapes was quite good and the combination of truffle with the honey was unusual and interesting. The mandarin vanilla mojito was probably the most undrinkable cocktail I’ve ever encountered. The Cobb salad also was really oddly flavored- a bit like bologna meat? My husband had the fish tacos which were okay but kinda meh. JIt was an anniversary lunch for us and it was great the hostess wished us happy anniversary but our server didn’t seem to have gotten the memo. Overall I am really glad we didn’t eat here for dinner since Lunch was $100. Stick to Merrimans or the Beach House and make reservations for those ahead of time. The food is excellent and the service is superb. The grounds were interesting and the little shops were fun and had some well priced offerings of jewelry and artist’s prints. I’d recommend this place for an hour or two diversion but skip the restaurant.

                                                      The food was awful and there was a luau going on next door so it was pretty loud. I would never go back. This was such a waste of money. We didn’t even finish our food.

                                                      The atmosphere was lovely! We went there for our anniversary an loved being seated in the outside area. Unfortunately, (no fault of theirs) we rushed through dinner because the flies were so obnoxious and out of hand. Luckily, their service was fast as, food was great, and we were in and out in an hour flat!

                                                      The restaurant and grounds are beautiful. We were seated immediately upon arrival which is always a bonus at any restaurant. We opted to go with the Thanksgiving set menu, ordering every item on offer (4 of us). There were multiple changes to the menu after we ordered (appetizers & dessert). We received our first drinks 20 minutes after seating and prior to appetizers, refills were not offered until dessert was on its way. An hour wait between appetizers & entree with no visit from our server aside from bringing steak knives for two of us The only time our server was quick to respond was when we asked for the check at the end of the meal. Overall: beautiful location, good food, terrible service. Would absolutely not return.

                                                      We love Gaylords. Always great food and service. We had Thanksgiving dinner last year at Gaylords and had an awesome Ono meal, so we booked again this year. Gaylords never disappoints. Our waitress, Davis, was outstanding.
