   Joined friends for a quiet lunch, great food, excellent service. My 3rd time there every visit has been great. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

   Another brilliant meal as always. We decided to go for a selection of the Indian food on offer and enjoyed every mouthful. We will be back.

   Hardly a gastro pub. Plastic menus with a limited selection of Indian food and a few English dishes. Experience spoiled by some noisy feral kids running around and shouting.

   Overall a lovely place to eat and drink. Spoiled tonight by being seated in a very noisy part of the restaurant. We asked to be moved and that was done so not all bad.

   Have visited The Poachers many times as the food is good and it was the first time there was no DJ and they just had some background music which was really good as it allowed you to speak to the rest of the group. The downside to this visit was the extremely slow service - as we had kids with us, we asked for their food to be brought first and it came last after asking a number of times, also it was only after the third time we asked for water that it was brought to the table.

We appreciate you were disappointed for not having the DJ on the day you visited us however we never have a DJ on week days but only on Friday and Saturday (and we always advertise it on Social Media). We apologize for the slow service and lack of attention towards your table. We hope you will give us a second chance.

    Booked for my son's 17th birthday. The website implies a much nicer venue and menu I'm afraid. We were seen and seated straight away and menus given and food orders taken quickly etc however I felt that the pub didn't have any ambiance and was on a main road. When the food came which was prompt, I was disappointed with the prawn curry, 5 prawns, and a runny liquid sauce which was not a curry sauce, it was basic at best. Chicken Caesar salad was better, tikka masala and lamb curry were apparently OK but small portions. Plain steamed rice was nice but served in a dessert bowl. I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend this pub.

    Thanks for sharing your experience at the Poachers gastro Pub, Lisa. I appreciate you didn't enjoy it, however I'd like to clarify that the venue on the website is exactly the same (not sure what you might have found so different). The prawn curry you were served is a typical Goan prawn curry and it's meant to be more "watery" as I believe it was also explained to you by the floor manager. About the rice, I can guarantee it was served in a bowl we would use only for rice and not for desserts. Have a lovely day.
