   The brisket was so tough we could hardly chew it so the meatloaf was also tough to chew. The shrimp were small and chewy with very little flavor. The chicken and waffles was the only dish, of 6, that would bring us back.

   Thumbs Down - we drove from the Bay Area to spend a day in Sacramento for "Ladies - Brunch & Fun"! The chicken with the waffle was dry and over cooked, side of bacon was undercooked - sent back, but the bacon - never returned, pancake was doughy and scramble (eggs & avacado) the eggs didnt taste like real eggs. Our server never came back to check on us, I stopped another server with water to get my glass refilled, she stated she was sorry I had to stop her to get water, yet she filled my glass, but never asked the three (3) other people at the table if they wanted a refill of water. I'm the foodie in the group, so I'm the one who chose your restaurant, but the best meals ordered were the shrimp and grits. The Porch was consistent again when I asked the brand name of the grits. I'm still waiting for the answer. It was like we were ignored, which is odd, since we were paying customers who had reservations! I just wish "The Porch" would have told us they weren't interested in providing a delightful dining experience.

   Food was good, waiter was nice, unfortunately food took quite a long time (over 45 min from sitting to entrees being delivered). In fairness, waiter let us know it would be a wait, but there were empty tables. If you go, plan for extra time!

   Our reservation was at 1215 pm. We were not told until we were seated, and until the waiter came to our table ( about 5-10 min later ) that the kitchen was running 45 min behind. We should have been told prior to our coming / and prior to being seated that the kitchen was that far behind We finally left at 115 pm. With no lunch served

   Service was not great. The welcome was not very friendly. I Ordered tea with my meal but it wasn’t brought until the end of my meal. I only had one bite of waffle left by the time they brought my tea. I asked the waitstaff for my tea, and he said he didn’t know anything about it and got very defensive. He told me very rudely that he didn’t know what kind of tea it was or if it was iced or cold. The food itself wasn’t great either. The waffle was very dry and didn’t taste freshly cooked. It looked deflated like it had been sitting for awhile and then retoasted. They don’t use real maple syrup either. Won’t be returning.

   We had a lively Valentine’s Day brunch at the Porch. We chose brunch to toast with mimosas and order the delicious beignets with jam and they were so good! Brunch was outstanding, the service was terrific and we will be back soon with our extended family! Thank you!

   The food at The Porch is outstanding. I’ve taken a few people there and we’ve enjoyed every meal. The only things I would mention is the parking and the noise level. Parking is a bit sparse during peak times so plan accordingly. As for the noise level, well, that’s because everyone is enjoying the food and their company. It’s a bit pricey but the servings are plentiful and the servers are great. I’ll be back again for sure.

    Troy was our server. Great company. We were here for breakfast. Got the spicy chicken biscuit sandwich, shrimp and grits, brisket and biscuit. All were tasty. Mos def will be back, maybe will try dinner next.
