   I had high expectations for this restaurant but was disappointed by the experience. Might have been an off night but service was slow , it was almost an hour for appetizers than another hour for mains to arrive and we ordered everything within 10 minutes of sitting down . Food was fine but for the cost I expected better. The space was not pleasant, we were in the “private dining room “ which seemed to be to manage overflow and it felt like it . The room is cold , some tables had coats on , and every so often we’d be blinded by headlights through the window from the parking lot . It was too bad because I’ve been to McEwen’s other restaurants and was looking forward to the meal .

   We love the ambience here, both indoors and out. The food is consistently great and staff are friendly and courteous. We have been 4 times and it is our fave place to have a special night out or a drink on the patio. Will be returning often.

   Service by Selwyn was superb, personable but never intrusive. Shrimp in the cocktail were huge and delicious. Sauce was a little heavy on the horseradish but delicious. Pickerel was delightfully seasoned as was the salmon. Stick toffee pudding to finish off the meal was scrumptious.

   We had made a reservation for 7:30 for 2 people at least 10 days prior. When we arrived, they seated us at a makeshift table near the bar area even though there were empty tables in the dining room area. We requested that we be moved, which they quickly accommodated. Other than that, the food was outstanding and the service was equally good. It's my first time at this restaurant but we will certainly be going back.

   Enjoyed a New Years Eve dinner for 2. The restaurant was completely full but despite that we were seated a little before our reservation time. Had a very nice table with very comfortable wing-back, upholstered chairs. The service was great, and our food was delivered in a very reasonable time, especially given how many large parties of diners there were. We both started with the French Onion Soup, which we’ve had before here and it was as delicious as the last time. The best we’ve ever tasted (and we’ve tried a LOT)! I had the Cob Salad which was a large size and very tasty. My husband had the fish and chips. Look forward to coming back and sampling some new dishes in the Spring!

   This was our New Year’s Eve dinner. The food was mediocre and overpriced for what it was. The drinks were expensive. The appetizers were on the tired side: overcooked clams, very few carrots and pecans in a heirloom carrot salad, but a lot of frisée lettuce. My husband ordered a steak and asked for it to be rare. It came well done. The server was very kind and offered to replace it but because at this point we waited for a very long time my husband ate it (the group next to us send their steaks back to the kitchen). If you a vegetarian do not go there, there are very few entree choices and the chef does not know how to cook a good tasting vegetarian food. It was shocking to get such poor quality meal from a very experienced restaurateur. Growing pains?
