The Potting Shed is a place to meet, eat, drink, relax and chat your day and night away – where hanging plants, terracotta pots and timber beams meet brass, brick and iron. Where you can plant yourself down on the swing seat, bench or at the bar and feel like you are on your family’s porch.

It’s a lively place where you can hoe into fresh, locally harvested produce, delivered by our shed-hands. The same hands that will deliver you good-natured banter, craft beers on tap, great tasting wines and unique cocktails.

It was our first time at the grounds of Alexandria for lunch at the Potting shed. The ambience was great, the shed is beautifully decorated, the wait staff was welcoming, friendly and gave good service. The dessert, cocktails and the classic dishes were all delicious 10/10 :)

Very disappointed with our experience at the Potting Shed. The overall vibe is kitschy with artificial fruit and flowers everywhere. Our waitress was rude to my friend while we were ordering, left the menus on the table and when clearing our dishes, scraped all the leftover food onto a plate that was sitting in front of us. We ordered a starter but it came at the same time as our main meal (the person delivering the starter dropped the pita bread on the floor before it made it to our table). I had the fish 'n spuds - the batter on the fish was so thick and hard that it was difficult to cut let alone eat. Definitely won't be coming back,

The ambience was fantastic, and the service was great fast and well explained, especially they accommodated our food allergies by asking us. Just one thing I didn't like was that I'm not yet finished when the staff tried to take my plate, and it was just a waste. I wasn't able to finish my chips cause the dirty serviettes touched my food. I find it a bit not ok!

We booked the private lock in feast for a simple wedding celebration. The room was beautifully set up and very private. The food was great and filling. I was worried the servings won’t be enough for everyone but we were already full just from the entree. The service was excellent. We weren’t neglected despite the busyness of the public space.

We had a wonderful time at The Grounds in the potting shed, service was wonderful and food was great. I would have like some more affordable options on the menu and the kids portions of meat (ordered fish & chips) was a little underwhelming. It was very hot in the Potting shed and although they had fans blaring and you could tell they have tried their hardest to keep the place cool, the heat impacted our experience making both myself and my daughter (7yrs old) feel unwell and unable to finish our meals/desserts It was great to have the Christmas sugar plum experience restricted to those with a booking as it made it less crowded although still very busy.
