We booked the restaurant for 4 people on arrival we were told that the restaurant was closed for a party. Had to sit in the bar area very noisy we could not hear ourself talk. We were presented with a very short small and large plate menu not a full menu as on previous occasions. Apparrantley short staffed only temporary chefs who could not provide a decent selection of food. Very disappointed and we were very embarrassed to have brought friends for a celebration dinner to a very poor venue. We should have been informed that a second class service was all that was available. Never again

Sunday dinner at the Powell Arms great food ordered pigs in blankets as an extra when they arrived there were nine of them. Great value for the price

Lovely food,good choice and very reasonably priced. Good service, pity tips can't be added on to the bill by card, tips are invaluable for the staff doing the front of house jobs, so we went back with cash. Would recommend and would revisit!!

Unfortunately we booked for when the England football team were on and didn't realise that the Powell was now a sports bar. The menu was small and uninspiring and all three steaks were cooked the same despite the fact that we each requested different lengths of cooking.

We had a delicious roast beef dinner, beef was cooked to perfection and a healthy portion. The children had burgers which they thoroughly enjoyed.

We lunched here for my birthday. The first time we’d been for a few years. The service was efficient and friendly the food was very good and good value. We will be going again soon.

Last minute booking Easter Sunday with friends. Fabulous roast dinner, top quality meat and plenty of vegetables. Service was good and not rushed between courses. Would definitely recommend and we will be going back again, soon!
