Perched on the corner of Finsbury Road since 1870, The Prince has long been a centerpiece of N22. While its look has evolved over the years, its charm & unique character have always endured, making it a true neighbourhood staple.

Primarily a local pub serving great beer from independent breweries around the country, we also have a dining menu centred around modern English fare.

The Prince is only a 5 minute walk from Alexandra Palace station and a 10 minute walk from Wood Green Station & Bounds Green Station.

Fabulous roast, the best sticky toffee pudding and great staff. Very accommodating. Looking forward to returning.

We feel very lucky to have The Prince on our doorstep & it rarely disappoints. On this occasion the only tiny niggle was that the haggis neeps and tatties (presumably left over from Burns Night) just weren’t quite hot enough. Hard to suggest a solution to this - whacking it in the microwave would feel like a crude response - maybe if the gravy had been really hot? Anyway, in all other regards, the food was excellent, as was the wine & the service. It was quite a quiet midweek night, but the place felt no less welcoming. Long may it thrive.

Not your usual gastro pub, The Prince genuinely wants to cater for foodies with an appetite. Excellent quality, taste and presentation. The menu changes with the seasons. Interesting and fairly priced wine list and a good selection of non-alcoholic beers This is a local gem.

We love the atmosphere in The Prince. The lighting is great. This time we ate in the dining room. Food took a little longer than we would normally like and when it came, the starters came at the same time as the main. We didn’t really mind as the starters were cold anyway but I do think that they should have told us beforehand. The lentil and roasted shallot dish was pretty good but not amazing and not really worth the price tag. Still had a great evening.

We feel very blessed to have The Prince almost on our doorstep. The food was excellent - the goats curd with beetroot never disappoints (shame it’s not on the menu all the time), & the bread was delicious. The hake was a really tasty & generous portion & beautifully cooked, & the chips were really crispy. Both desserts - a classic sticky toffee pudding & a superb chocolate cremeux were terrific. The wine list seems to have become a little less adventurous, but our gaillac was crisp and clean. As always the staff were on the right side of attentive, very welcoming and given the NYE crowd remarkably chilled. Delighted that The Prince has come through the year’s power surges in such good shape and long may it thrive!

As always a great time at The Prince. Good food and drinks, and warm service under pressure. It was NYE, so the noise and energy levels were high, but may have been appropriate to have the DJ volume a little lower while dinner was still being served. But nonetheless a good choice for NYE.

Easy to book. Attentive staff even when busy. Took my baby and good changing facilities. Interesting menu choices - tried foods I would never normally choose and all delicious. Just a bit pricey but worth it!

Excellent service, food was delicious … the sharing roast chicken and beef were exceptional for a large group. Side note - espresso martinis were one of the finest we’ve had!
