Service was very pleasant and nice. Food was just okay. It wasn’t the hottest so we had to send back.

Steak was very tough. Waitress was also the bartender. Table right beside kitchen making it a high traffic area to try to enjoy anniversary dinner. If making reservations, I recommend being specific of where you want to sit.

I’ve been eyeing the pump house for years and finally had the opportunity to visit for Valentine’s Day, and it was everything I was expecting. My Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience and hope to return again.

I was AA little bit disappointed. We had reservations for valentine's night and they were out of mashed potatoes and their sirloin steak, which was what I would have ordered a little disappointed about that. We had paid a lot for this meal. Look over the menu before we booked our reservation. And it also was a 1hr ride from our house

We’ve been to PH once before and had a good exp. The roses at check in were a nice gesture. We were seated promptly and the server arrived right after. Explained the menu, and said she was waiting on some cornbread to come up. We ordered shortly after, got our apps, had the oysters they were good and the pork belly, also good. Asked again about the cornbread. Checked on it, still waiting. Our entrees came, asked again for cornbread and she said still waiting on some, we saw several tables by the bar get cornbread in the meantime. We had the last 2 NY strip. Honestly they weren’t the best. They reminded me of something we’d get on a cruise. Just mediocre. I should’ve gotten something else. After our entrees, we were served cornbread lol and it wasn’t HOT so idk what the hold up was. Kinda weird. Then our desserts came. We tried one of each. The chocolate torte seemed store bought. Like something from Publix. The red velvet advertised candied raspberries. Where? The wine was good. We just had an ok experience which is unfortunate considering we drive from Lincolnton which took over an hour each way.

Normally, the Pump House is an amazing experience. I've been here many times before and never had a bad meal. Valentine's Day was different. It was the same incredible atmosphere, but unfortunately, the food was just underwhelming. The French onion soup I had was probably the worst I've ever had. It had zero flavor with one small crouton with a small sprinkle of cheese. The chef swung and completely missed on this one. My surf and turf was decent, once I put some salt and pepper on my steak. Again, little flavor. My girlfriend had scallop risotto and she took about three bites and put her fork down. She was done. I tried it and to sum it up, it was just bad. The desserts were decent, nothing outstanding or special. I could have gotten a comparable dessert out of the frozen box aisle at Harris Teeter. My drink (old fashioned), did not disappoint. It was the highlight of the meal. The only thing better than my old fashioned was the beautiful woman I got to spend Valentine's Day with. Hopefully Pump House throws out the prix fix menu from Valentine's Day and goes back to their normal, usually outstanding menu. This meal definitely wasn't worth the $200+. It will be a while before we go back.

We went for Valentine's Day, and it was one of the worst food experiences I have had in a very long time. Service was great. The managers were nice. We were seated quickly and it was a nice atmosphere. But the food was absolutely embarrassing. For the first course my wife had the "wedge" which came out with about four bites of salad. I had the French onion soup. It was so basic that it tasted like nothing more than a can of Campbell's soup with a 1" x 2" piece of toasted bread with a sprinkle of cheese on it in the middle. It was absolutely a joke. Even the waitress knew it was a shame to serve. For the second course my wife and I both got the scallop risotto. I have never seen grease in a risotto in my life, but the bowl was filled with it. The risotto itself wasn't cooked enough and I had to chew it. It was so bad that for the first time in memory I told the waitress, and then a manager, it was not edible. I also showed them both the grease at the bottom and they too confirmed that was not supposed to be like that. They brought me out the evenings steak. It also was terrible. It was clearly pre-cooked, had no char or crust, and had a distasteful demi on top - it tasted like it was boiled. It too was inedible and wasted away on my plate. The mashed potatoes were good, though. The third course of deserts were a chocolate tort and a piece of red velvet cake. The tort was absolutely terrible. It was extremely dark chocolate, or just burned, and was extremely bitter. The red velvet cake was clearly made days before and was extremely dry. We didn't even eat 10% of either plate. What a total waste. To be charged $70 a person for this was extremely disappointing. Our waitress was wonderful. She tried to do what she could but the food was all clearly premade and there were no real options to fix it. What a massive disservice to all those that came to eat there that night. It is my first and will be my last time at the restaurant.

Shayne was awesome! My NC Mountain Stuffed Trout was delicious, the lemon ver blanc was amazing with the sweet potatoes, my hibiscus breeze was so good I ordered another. The view was incredible! Beautiful way to begin my birthday celebrations!
