Since welcoming its first guests in 1773, The Red Lion Inn has earned a reputation for outstanding food and genuine country hospitality. Those traditions are continued today by Executive Chef Jon Sterrett, whose kitchen features contemporary cuisine that is rooted in the region's history and harvests. Emphasizing the use of fresh, local ingredients and a huge proponent of buying locally and sustaining the region, Chef Sterrett regularly updates the Inn's menus to reflect the bounty of each season. Guests choose from the elegant Main Dining Room and the cozy Widow Bingham's Tavern. The wine list offers 500 plus selections, and has received the Wine Spectator best of Award of Excellence for ten consecutive years; Sommelier Tim Eustis helps pair wines with meals. If you would like to dine in the Tavern, please choose Bar when making your reservation.

Our server Kathy C. was great. The holiday ambiance at the Red Lion is to be experienced. We spent time and money at Township Four also.

We love the Red Lion Inn and have visited it many times, but we were disappointed with this Holiday Season luncheon. The dining room was busy but not overly so. The staff from reception through delivering the check seemed more challenged in fulfilling their responsibilities than you’d expect from an Inn with this level of reputation. The food was fine, just fine no better, desserts were messy, coffee cold. Overall we enjoyed ourselves because we were celebrating with good friends. Would I recommend the Red Lion? Yes, but I’d advise you go for the ambiance not the food or service.

Dinner in main dining room at holiday time very nice. Service excellent and friendly. Wish there was a bit more variety to menu but options for most dietary needs. Plating lovely.

Lovely and festive, and all decorated for Christmas. Harp music in the background. Food was delicious and satisfying for a very cold day. Only suggestion would be to serve better french fries. The ones we received with a sandwich looked like they came from McDonald’s. Otherwise, a wonderful lunch.

A late-ish supper in the tavern on a busy Thursday eve was not up to the RLI's usual standard. Potpie and chowder had turned to glue, though both were removed from our bill without any discussion. Drinks excellent and waiter charming through it all. The Tavern is better for lunch, in our experience; save the main dining room for dinner. Service is always excellent.
