I took my husband to breakfast at The Rose Room. We didn’t know what to expect having Turkish food for breakfast, but it was amazing. The food was very fast, the service was great and the food was amazing. I would definitely recommend the experience.

Service - poor. Friend ordered a chai latte, got a flat white. 20 mins to replace order - was laced to the brim with cinnamon powder. Ordered a French toast, didn’t arrive and we ended up cancelling it. Cutlery not in table, had to pick the forks from the next table. Staff were pleasant but too busy to be attentive. Food - Mediocre. My mocha was nice. It ends there. Don’t get the sultan breakfast, recommend ordering individual meals. Meant to be for two to share a $52 meal. Cooked pastry was oily and cold. Appeared to be thoughtlessly thrown together. Ambiance - got a bit noisy which we did not mind. The deco is nice and modern. Recommendation - give it a miss. There are better places to eat and meet in the Valley.

Lovely decor, and clearly a well known haunt to the community (always a great sign). But wasn't busy on the morning I went, and service was slow, out of Turkish Coffee, and the espresso I ordered never turned up.... I cancelled and had to go. Bread basket was tasty, and the meals around me looked fabulous!

The Rose Room is such a beautiful place for breakfast or brunch, I’m so sad you won’t be open to the public anymore.

A fabulous dining experience in every way. Booked a table for 2 at 10am on a Saturday morning. Expected place to be crowded but we had the outside area all to ourselves (it became a bit drizzly and we later moved indoors, where it was more crowded and far less quiet). 2 friendly and efficient waitresses, very attentive. One had just started working there 3 days ago but was on the ball. We ordered the Sultan's Turkish Breakfast platter and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. Extremely filling, had to leave behind a few bites of the beautiful bread and take away our (very sweet) baklava desserts in a convenient little box. (Alas one of the sourdough slices was burnt on the back, but the rest was perfectly delightful. Husband enjoyed his very first taste of gozleme, and I loved the goat's cheese. He was very happy to find mulberries in the fruit selection.) The Turkish coffee was mellow and the Turkish apple tea was splendid. Aesthetically pleasing laneway due to the profusion of pink floral decor which transformed a pretty ordinary lane into a magical foodie paradise. Not sure about the mural on the wall, looked a bit alarming and confusing, but it did add to the overall aesthetic. Would be cool to have a mural depicting Turkey. Clean and classy toilets available within the premises at the back left corner, with 3 shared sinks between the gents' and ladies'. Taps turn on automatically when you motion at the panel on the wall under the tap. Did not bring toddler as it did not appear kid-friendly from the photos, but someone brought their baby in a pram (they were seated indoors) and I think our toddler would have been happy with us in the breezy outdoor area. Customers can have their parking at McWhirter's validated and pay just $7. We scored metered street parking just across the road and paid about $4 for 1h 45min (the length of the table booking).
