It’s a lovely restaurant for evening meal but lunch was a bit disappointing. The superfood salad was very small and thrown into a plate. It didn’t look good and was very bland. But evenings are very good to be fair..

It was an incredible dinner with family and friends. Very tasty food and original presentation and a great atmosphere with live music. I would also like to thank Vadim who took care of our table and brought us a birthday plate with a candle. It was very nice As always, the service and cuisine at the highest level ❤️

Service was poor. Got served by 4 separate staff and nobody took ownership of the table. Had to call repeatedly for the dessert menu after our initial server had promised to bring the menu but then walked past our table on a few occasions and never brought it over. Then we had to specifically call over another server to take the dessert order, we had to remind twice to refill our water glasses and then ask another server to finish clearing away our main course plates as the server who started clearing our table never returned to finish clearing it. It wasn’t overly busy to excuse the service. Staff were wandering around without actually looking at the customers or tables to see what needed attention. Disappointing for what is a lovely setting and hotel.

We dined in The Sally Gap Brasserie twice while staying at Powerscourt Hotel. A perfect experience both times! Food was delicious and all the staff were excellent. Could l just say a young waitress called Emily who served us on the first evening was really excellent and took time to chat a little, my husband has a severe garlic allergy and she went out of her way to get him something nice. On the second night they organised to make a special garlic free sauce for the fish which was very much appreciated. Thank you

Our server Robin was bright, and charming and served very well. The Guinness soda bread was THE star of the evening. The best ever. So moist and delicious. We would have been more than satisfied to just eat it along with a fine glass of wine, as our evening meal. The restaurant itself was safe nothing extraordinary, sort of what one expects as part of a hotel. The new menu is uninspired. We enjoy a something a wee bit exciting and different than what we would cook at home. I had one of the new starters "Oven Salt Baked Celeriac," which was served as a cold dish, despite being called "Oven Baked". I didn't taste any salt in the dish. Also, as someone who cooks regularly with celeriac, I know that once baked or cooked it has a very pleasant soft texture. I was disappointed that the celeriac served was not cooked but served al dente. It would be more correct to title this dish "Celeriac Crudités". We had both the trout and the cod dishes as our mains and both fish were expertly cooked. My trout dish was served with a beurre blanc "soup" not a sauce as was promised. My husband had the cod dish and he declared it "fine, nothing outstanding." In our opinion we would not go back for another meal.

Rather disappointed tbh. Prawn cocktail very bland and poor value for 19 euros. Soup nothing special either. Service fine but we expected tastier food given the prices charged…

This is my second time returning to the Sally Gap and it still remains one of my favourite hotel restaurants. The food was great and the friendliness yet professionalism of the staff made the overall experience wonderful. I look forward to my next visit.
