Slightly Disappointed with our visit although the food was good and the waiter was friendly the wait between each course was so very slow with no explanation given, several times we wondered if we had been forgotten when someone would appear and say sorry for delay Would we visit again probably not

I would recommend the Salt Room to any seafood lovers, all dishes were well prepared and tasted amazing. The sauces in particular were divine, great depths of flavour and really bought the dishes alive.

Iconic restaurant on Brighton seafront. Food, service, ambiance excellent. However, would like a little more vegetarian/non fish choices…I am aware this is a fish restaurant but…!! Always a pleasure to go to

Top quality food as usual but surprisingly empty for a Friday lunchtime. Not the cheapest around but well worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back in the future

The staff were excellent, Patrick and Gabor looked after us really well, attentive but not intrusive. The food too was excellent, I sneaked in 3 oysters before the excellent scallop starter, my wife had had the octopus doughnut and then the mackerel stater, which were both delicious . We then shared the turbot catch of the day - filleted for us, with lovely roast potatoes and a refreshing green "salad". I had the dessert of the day lemon tart with rhubarb ice cream which was tart and excellent and my wife had the selection of mini desserts. Thank you for the complimentary prosecco and the Happy anniversary plate too. We will return.

Visited the restaurant on a Monday evening. Very polite reception staff, everyone was attentive and professional. No issues at all, food was prepared nicely, fine dining experience and as such, not a huge amount. Very overpriced, we wanted to try the place but in real honesty, we had better experiences in other restaurants but it is a personal opinion, nothing against the staff and the restaurant.

Excellent meal - oysters in particular were great and a very well prepared porterhouse - and great service. We will be visiting the Salt Room again!

We attended the Pride Brunch on Saturday 6th August. We had attended the same event the last time it was held pre Pandemic and had the best experience in 2019. This year the format changed from free flowing Prosecco and a variety of excellent food to a fixed 5 cocktails or 1 bottle of prosecco + food. Also the cost had increased considerably. We still decide to attend based on our previous experience despite the big increase in cost, but unfortunately the experience was not great. The cocktails on offer were not that tasty and really disappointing was the food. There was not enough of it and it was not as good quality as the previous event. Some of the menu we never received much of it at all, and despite asking staff the langoustines dish was never witnessed. Additionally, the DJ unfortunately never got the crowd going with the choice of music, whereas In 2019 there were people dancing and strangers talking to each other. We also got talking to people who like us had returned due the previous event and they all commented on the same things referenced here. Please if you do run the event again take a look at the ambiance and package you created previously and go back to this winning format!
