   Beautiful restaurant. Food was good but came out cold. Waiter was not attentive at all. Then had a bit of an attitude. There is mo insulation to help with the noise. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation due to the noise from the surrounding tables.

   My coworker and I had an early dinner after working a trade show for 3 days. We were taking a night bus tour later in the evening. We were immediately impressed by the decor and energy of the restaurant. We had the Calamari appetizer. It was cooked to perfection and the spicy sauce was so good. I had the Basil Lemon Drop martini. Sooooo good. My coworker chose the Branzini with coconut curry sauce, which he enjoyed immensely. I chose the Soba Noodle Salad with Roasted Salmon. What an explosion of flavors! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were informed and attentive. Service was top notch. I highly recommend The Smith-Penn Quarter.

   The food was amazing!! However, Our waitress seemed to talk as quietly as she possibly could and we didn’t hear her name. We had everything we needed but she let us know with her body language that she did not want to be there. The tables are squeezed together so tightly waitress can hardly squeeze between chairs to serve people.

   This was our 2nd time at the Smith with not the expected same experience. Wait staff was very inattentive. Don’t know if it was because of too many tables to handle or not. Would come and not return for long periods of time. Had to ask for refills on nonalcoholic drinks. No bread was so kindly put on table but when asked, it was brought several minutes later only to get cold & somewhat stale. Entrees were excellent and presented well. We will give the Smith another try when we are back in town and hopefully the next dinner will be much better.

    This place is a joke. I would give 0 stars if I could. We came for a nice dinner and got terrible service and even worse food. Our waiter, Angel, took 20 minutes to take our order, and when the food finally came, it was cold and disgusting. Three of us couldn’t even get what we wanted because they were “sold out” of everything. The steaks were undercooked and tasted awful, the pasta was inedible, and the chicken was just fine—barely. When it came time to pay, Angel messed up our bills, harassed my friend about change, and then ignored us for 30 minutes. We had to ask the manager to find the missing check, and they couldn’t. This place is a disaster. Never coming back.
