Located in the leafy area of Bowdon, The Stamford is a modern interpretation of pubs from a bygone era; a social space enjoyed by the local community and visitors alike, serving the wider Altrincham, Hale and Cheshire area.

We offer a fresh food a la carte menu alongside lunch specials throughout the pub and a crowd-pleasing set price menu on a Sunday, including our famous mixed meat roasts.     We come to Bowdon from London every few months and we make a trip to The Stamford every time we’re there for a family lunch / dinner. The food is exceptional, really very good and super fresh (especially the roast). The staff are always very friendly, nothing is too much trouble and the regulars are friendly and welcoming.

    Great find close to Dunham Massey. Lovely pub with great food and excellent portions. We visited at lunchtime and took advantage of their lunchtime deal which was great value for money. Very dog friendly with treats and fresh water freely available. Highly recommended.

    Food lovely Service slow.. asked for dessert menu and they didn’t come over for 20 minutes so we just paid the bill instead of ordering one Asked if they have crayons for kids and the lady says no and walked off then I see an area they have games you can bring to the table for kids why not mention that when I asked about crayons Service needs to be better then this place would be spot on

    Very nice meal and everyone enjoyed the food. The service was okay but no check back, had to chase them down to get drinks, cutlery and sauces. Nothing major but it was fairly quiet, no real reason for that. Didn’t deserve the 12% service charge they add on.

    Very good value gif money, warm and cosy, and a lovely atmosphere. The young man serving behind the bar, and also taking and serving the pub meals, was absolutely charming. So very professional and helpful - nothing g was too much trouble for in. A real asset to the Stamford Arms. ….. He needs a pay rise!

    Roast dinner is so hit and miss here. Today was terrible. Won’t be eating there again which is a shame because it’s my local
