   Very friendly service. Attentive. Had a cosy table. Asked for them to put a ballon at the table (popped in beforehand). Was a strange reception, as though it was too much trouble. On the evening, was good but no special attention (nor asked). It’s been a while since we’ve been to the Thatch as found it quite flat. Hesse soufflé barely warm but rump and chips and scampi was ok.

   A very solid 4/5 and nearly a 5/5. The food was good, and it was a nice touch that for our Sunday lunch we could have refills of the vegetables and gravy. It wasn’t that busy, as we were early, and the only downside was having to ask more than once for some things, but overall very good and we would go back again quite happily.

   I have been to the Thatch a few times, it’s consistently good quality food at a good price. The staff are always friendly and attentive. It’s a traditional pub with the nice restaurant separate at the back, which means you can meet at the bar first for a drink before you go in to eat, and again after your meal, your table has a 2 hour 15 minute time slot, however I have never ran over, the turn around is quite good, your food is delivered quickly but I have never felt rushed and that’s been a table for 2, 4 and 9 , I thoroughly recommend this restaurant and I will continue to revisit with family and friends
